I was excited about the transition of Turco's after the owner deiced to retire. Sad to report that over the last two months the new owners have failed in every respect to make this store better,in fact it is much much worse. We can no longer buy decent sandwiches,fresh quality produce,meat,fresh soup,prepared take home foods,grocery's,specaility items and that leaves very few things for us to purchase from this location. What is going on with the fresh mozzarella??! It's been a different consistency. Not as soft. It's hit or miss lately. It's always delicious and today it was drier and more rubbery. Second time this has happened and it's not cheap.
I'm mourning Turcos. The store on a day after a storm was in disarray. None of the folks I dealt with in the appetizing section were there... all the folks I dealt with in the Meat Dept were not there either. I was told many had left. I had pUrchased an uncle Giuseppe's bag when I was there the time before, and the cashier actually did not believe me when I told her it was mine, already purchased. I was accused of taking the bag. Lasagna with Penicillin is not what I ordered. Got a little extra surprise the other night when we got the to go lasagna from this "establishment". After eating part, my wife unwrapped the rest of it, and instead of finding extra cheese and sauce there was delectable fuzzy mold growing on our dinner. Was hoping to see improvements from Turcos's which in my opinion was mediocre at best on certain items. I think their first item of business was to raise prices on basic items. For example a bottle of water from food service to a $1.25??? from .99c 25%??? That turned me off immediately. I go sometimes only for convenience but, it does nothing for me. Good luck and to each their own.
I just returned a package of tofu that was expired by two weeks when I purchased it. The girl at the customer service counter asked me if I had a penny so she wouldn't have to give me 99 cents change. I didn't so she gave me a $2.99 refund! Unbelievable. What about the gas and trouble I went thru to return to the store? A reputable store would have provided a refund and a credit towards another item.

Very disappointed in this store... People were assured that recipes would remain the same and that we would continue to get the same quality food and products that Turco's had... Well in true typical corporate fashion we were lied to... The food has gotten worse, the offerings are worse, and the quality of food we all knew and loved is now gone... RIP Turco's...
Absolutely terrible place to shop! The prices are outrageously high and the quality is not good. Turco's part 2. I check some of the fish and produce and the fish was not fresh, and 12.99 for 8 clams? I ask the fish guy what came in today and they said nothing. The fried Calamari looks old and petrified. The pomegranates were beat up, some with slices in them and others mushy. Seems like nothing ever changes in Yorktown. Going back to Trader Joes where people get treated fairly and good quality products and fair prices... read more
I went to Uncle Giuseppe's with my family. We wanted to buy some food and have lunch there. My son and I went to the men's room and an employee from the kitchen walked in and went into a stall, wearing his kitchen uniform. From the noise we heard, he defecated big time. When he finished, he just left without washing his hands. I stopped him and told him that he was supposed to wash his hands before returning to the kitchen. He told me that he would do it "later".
