I kept asking myself: "If I had brought my dog to another hospital and got the infection treated in the first place, would my dog be still alive today?" One morning I saw my dog lying on the floor trembling and suspected my dog had a fever and probably had an infection. I immediately called this hospital for an appointment. The staff sounded polite but did not feel the urgency and was not helpful. During the visit, the vet, Dr. Chafetz, was not concerned about my dog's fever. He gave my dog a shot for arthritis to address my... read more
I cannot say worse things about this place. At first glance the staff appears to care for the animals, offering bandana's for stress, etc. Aside from a few doctors, the staff is terribly unfriendly. It often feels like everything is a burden and I always felt uncomfortable checking out. My dog has never had problems at the vet. But when my dog gets out of the car and he sees the building he immediately starts shaking uncontrollably. My dog has NEVER had an issue before this. The building itself is rather rundown. I had a sit... read more
Get an email asking to press button to confirm annual check-up for an appointment made a year ago. press button, confirm appointment - seemed simple enough. Show up for appointment and they say it was never confirmed so they cancelled the appointment. No emails saying they cancelled the appointment. Only one car in the parking spots - but have to reschedule. I travel weekly, changed my whole travel schedule to make the appointment. I'm done with them.
I wish I didn't have such a bad experience at Vienna Animal hospital with the receptionists because I really liked Dr. Kleinmann. I brought my dog there for the first time to get an allergy injection. He was given a lesser dosage because he had lost weight. After speaking to Dr. Kleinmann, she suggested bringing him back for an extra dosage because the allergy shot wasn't giving him any relief. I got a phone call a day after from the hospital, thinking they were calling to check up on my pet to see how he was doing. I've alw... read more
Avoid Vienna Animal Hospital unless you like to overpay 2X. Just to help out others so they do not end up in my situation. I recently moved from Annandale to Vienna. My dog stopped eating and his teeth were bothering him. So I took him up to Vienna Animal Hospital (531 Maple Ave) to get checked out. He will need teeth pulled. They did the exam, heartworm/lyme test and the pre-op blood work. The bill was $441! They quoted me $800-$1100 for the dentistry. So I found a vet in Fairfax that my son uses, that has reviews just as g... read more
Vienna Animal Hospital (VAH) is special to our family and provided care for our three animals for years, however, we do not plan on going back. I'm sharing the below feedback not to be mean or take out my frustrations on the clinic but because I genuinely want others to learn from my experience. My cat has fibrosarcmoa (an aggressive cancer) and it took two months and a change in our vet for us to finally get that information and start the road to treatment and (hopefully) recovery. To some this might not be a huge deal, but... read more
I had a horrible experience here (specifically with Dr. Wolff) and I very ardently do not recommend this practice. I wish I could give them negative stars.
My goldnedoodle recently had a medical emergency. He was very sick and required medical attention. So I called Vienna Animal Hospital- this was at around 12pm on a weekday. They had been my dog's primary care veterinary. After being put on hold for 5 minutes I was told there was nothing they could do to help my dog without having an appointment booked long in advance. I tried to explain that my dog's illness was unexpected ( as they usually are) and that it was important they try to accommodate him. All I received was as apa... read more
Business response:
Andres, we take your feedback seriously and are sorry we were unable to see your pup. When we referred him to another hospital, it was actually in his best interest, as we did not have an available doctor at the time. We can assure you that our team had your pup's best interest in mind and did what they felt best in their professional opinion. If you wish to discuss anything further, we would be happy to do so and kindly ask that you give us a call.
We called to see if we needed our dogs to be seen to get Nexgard prescriptions. Receptionist stated we did and need to be seen even though we have had thorough check ups recently, right before we moved here. She mentioned sometimes the Vet will waive the evaluation fee, so I asked to talk to the Vet about our situation and I told her I could bring all the medical records in for their vet to see, so we could get a prescription for oral flea and tick treatment. Receptionist called me back and stated we have to pay for a check ... read more
Business response:
Nora, we are sorry you were not happy after calling our hospital. We understand your frustration, however, it is a state law that requires a valid doctor-patient relationship in order to dispense or prescribe medication. We are dedicated to providing exceptional care and service and apologize for any miscommunication or inconvenience that has led you to believe anything else. We are happy that you were able to get your pet the medicine from your previous vet. If you wish to discuss anything further, please do not hesitate to... read more
