We believe Watermark used deceptive practices to string us along during the refinance process, with no intention of honoring its Zillow quote or good faith estimate. Cathy Dragna called on 7/23 to follow-up to my refinance inquiry, and confirmed our Zillow quote was valid. We submitted an application, turning everything around within hours. I contacted Watermark Home Loans after another broker lost our refinancing rate lock twice. Cathy was initially very helpful, very knowledgeable and responsive. When I inquired wheher we could use the appraisal we had obtained from the previous refinancing attempt, she assured me we could do so. Before we locked in at a rate, I asked two more times if she was sure we could use the appraisal, and she again assured me we could. We are never happy to have an unsatisfied client. Unfortunately the appraisal provided was not accepted by our investor and to cure the situation we offered to pay for a new appraisal for the client. The client was worried about the value of their home and did not want to take the chance on a new appraisal. The delay was to exhaust all other possibilities but in the end the offer to pay for an appraisal was in our opinion a very fair route to take. Sent an email to me, then never called back. Called them directly, but no follow-up. Too many banks out there to waste time with this.
It went on and on. He promised and promised. Nothing happened for many months. Im very upset I got draged along for so long. I feel if I responded to him again it would be a dead end. If it was not going to work tell me! so I can move ahead. I even asked for the name of the company that appraised the house. I wanted to look for another company to help us before the apraisal time ran out. All my wife and I heard was just another week we are very close. I think this went on for 8 months or so. I have gone through a dozen purchases and refinances and this was by far the worst experience I have ever had working with a mortgage broker. The initial Zillow rate quote was very good- after that it was a free fall. Two and a half months and over 150 emails and countless telephone conversations and I am still fighting to get them to fix the damages they caused. We take all of our complaints very seriously, unfortunately we do not agree with the information provided in this review. The client refinanced 2 properties which have concluded under terms far more beneficial than originally promised, this fact is not disputed by the client. The borrower has a right to cancel within 3 days of signing, we gave 6 days instead, and we did not receive any instructions to cancel.
