I am still waiting to make a final decision on Westgate Gardens, first off it does not smell like a nursing home and the employees seem relatively friendly and happy BUT we are having some communication issues with the doctor and staff. They have been accommodating but not overly and everyone is VERY busy, we have only been here a short while so I will be updating the review as time will tell, also we are short term rehab with excellent insurance and that may make a difference. STANDBY.
My grandmother was a patient at westgate gardens for about 5 months. It was very hard for her and our family to place her in a nursing facility while she recovered from a broken wrist. I've been a florist for many years and have delivered to many nursing homes, always feeling a bit bothered by the lack of cleanliness of most.. Thinking I wouldn't want my loved ones in a nursing home. When the time came to place my grandma, this was my first suggestion to my family. My mom was at west gate gardens for 3 weeks. The staff there was awesome, the physical therapy was super and it was extremely clean , which was very important because my mom is a cancer patient .
Choosing a care facility for my loved one was such a difficult decision. I struggled with who to trust and whether I was making the right decision. I was unable to take care of my grandma myself so a care facility was my only option. Westgate Gardens made this difficult transition so much easier. They loved my grandma as their own and took excellent care of her. I would make the same decision in a heartbeat. If you are in my position, at least go learn more about them. They have a passion for caring for seniors.
This center has really messed my mom up mentally. She now feels like she is a burden and is severely depressed now. My mom wasn't like this last Saturday. She was up and walking now she is scared to fall. Too many other issues to mention in this review but think twice before placing your loved one in the care of this center.
They care for you okay. My problem is their food, it looks like slop and tastes even worse. That stands for all three meals. How do they expect a resident to get better and stronger when the food is so lousy.
This place is horrid. My folks just got out and we are relieved. They were constantly talked down to. Workers would insist that my father should just "go in his brief" because changing a diaper took less time than helping him to the restroom. My mother was treated as a visitor not a patient. My dads room would be made up while my mom's would be ignored. Food is despicable, rice with every meal. They would wake up my mom late in the evening for a shower and if she refused they responded with, "ok, no shower again for 3 wee... read more

I'D LIKE TO POINT OUT THIS FACILITY HAS REVIEWS FROM THEIR OWN EMPLOYEES, MAJOR CONFLICT IF INTEREST. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND READ THE REAL REVIEWS.....I could give no stars, I would. So that's the only reason I have given them one star. I have worked as a CNA in the past and this is by far the worst facility I have ever seen. My grandmother had surgery and was completed non ambulatory. She was transferred to this facility where she was basically neglected. She started getting bed sores on her bottom as well as underneath her chest. Her hands were very weak and she struggled to feed herself. She is a dialysis patient and the same gauze/bandages were left on for several days. We took her plenty of clothes and she would be dressed in somebody else's clothes that did not fit her.
