Overall, had a great experience at Westville - went to the one on Hudson, so was able to make a reservation, whereas I hear the other locations can be quite a wait. The service was attentive and friendly. The food is delicious - they have a ton of side options that held up to their reputation. Prices are fairly affordable and can range from "cheaper nice meal" to "nice restaurant meal" depending on what you get.
Reasonably priced good food. Hard to find in NYC. First time at Westville Hudson. Portions are big. We arrived early, were seated within 5 minutes even though one of the folks in our party didn't arrive for another 30 minutes. Service was good and we were never rushed. Lots on veggies on the menu. Very good but you don't need to over order. Entrees do come with sides. We will return.
We were a group of twelve at 12:30 on a Saturday. Included in our group were four children ages ranging from two to five. There were crowds of people waiting for tables but our table was set and ready for us when we arrived. We sat as soon as six of us arrived and it was about a half hour before everyone showed up. Westville has great, delicious, versatile menu offerings (I especially recommend the Market Plate and my dining companion recommends the Waffles with Simple Fruit Topping). The service was very friendly and efficient, despite the busyness of a Saturday late-morning/brunch rush. The only downside is that you practically have to shout in order to have a conversation with the person next to or right across from you at the table (VERY noisy atmosphere), but that will NOT keep me from returning to Westville. I took a client here for supper, and whilst the food was tasty and the waiting staff attentive, it was so noisy we struggled to hear each other. Definitely better for a younger crowd who are happy to shout to be heard.
We plan to use it often for brunch or lunch on the weekends. The food was good and the variety catered to all.
Meal: Saturday dinner with 10 friends. Easy to make a reservation for Saturday night. Food recommended: Anything on market vegetable list was delicious, loved the fennel! Also love the mac and cheese! Drinks: Happy hour from 4-8pm, even on Saturday night! Great deals! Service: Our waiter was very friendly and attentive. Even though we had 10 people, which meant it took forever to order and pay, he was very patient, and didn't rush us at all! Definitely coming back :)
This is was second time at the Hudson location. The food is so delicious at Westville! Best garlic mash potatoes around! Really enjoyed the Smokey Margarita too!
