Our first visit and the food and drinks we're spot on.
There to enjoy Thanksgiving dinner with family. With reservation and being on time, we were asked to wait, while I saw a group without reservation were seated before us while we were waiting in the cold. Given it's a busy night, we feel a bit neglected. I had to tell the host that we don't mind taking a tall table as our kids are really hungry and cold, then we got a table. Every time we’ve been here, the food has been delicious and the service has been amazing. The wait staff is super friendly and they take really good care of you. This is fast becoming one of my favorite spots to eat in Solvang.
We took advantage of W&R's Thanksgiving buffet, which was tasty and pleasantly presented. Waitstaff was attentive but not bothersome or overbearing. So, I can't really comment on their regular fare but our experience had us commenting that we would return during an ensuing visit.
We did not enjoy the Thanksgiving buffet. We are disappointed with the food selections. Next time we dine we will order thru the menu, but our server was really attentive.
The place its self was cute. They had in door and outdoor seating. Dogs are allowed which is a huge plus. The safe was amazing very knowledgeable with their drinks very friendly and accommodating. I was there for thanksgiving, while the food was good there could have been more variety. Turkey brisket salmon burnt ends vegetarian it was good. Zucchini, yams, mashed potatoes dressing, cranberry sauce, gravy, 3 types of salads and 3 desserts to choose from. Only one dessert per person. Everything was buffet except the dessert
When visiting Solvang, Whiskey & Rye is consistently one of our favorite spots. Their extensive selection of whiskies and creative cocktails is impressive, and the quality of both the food and service is always excellent. We celebrated Thanksgiving there this year, and the holiday buffet—along with the desserts—was truly exceptional. Highly recommended for anyone looking for great drinks, delicious food, and warm hospitality.

This place was recommended by another couple staying in my hotel, and the food did NOT disappoint! The filet tips were THE best along with the mac 'n cheese as a side to my entree.
