All is well for my mother with her move to this community for the time being. However she is in independent living, and sometimes needs more care than they are able to provide in the part of the community. They really nickel and dime you when it comes to getting extra care for your love one. The breakfast, and lunch are good, but their dinner services needs improvements. STRONGLY NOT RECOMMENDED. Recently purchased by Pacifica Senior Living. My father, 93 yrs old, has been a resident for going on 4 years. Now Pacifica is now charging him an additional $1,500 a month for "AL Care" they do not provide. We refused to pay. They are evicting him. State & ACHA complaints are pending.

Have paid a refundable deposit here. Assuming will move Mom in at the end of the month. (This month March to take advantage of the current move in specials.) Will be taking Mom over for her first visit tomorrow March 8 at 11 . Have made arrangements to eat lunch while there. They are planning to do her assessment after lunch. I may or may not have her sign the lease at that time. Just want to be ABSOLUTELY sure she will make the move. My loved one was in the memory care unit. Families need to be very visible and visit several times a week. Be aware there is not a nurse assigned to this unit through the night. I would never put another one of my loved ones in a Brookdale owned property. Nice looking on the surface but enforces and keeps the minimum state requirements for care. Too worried about the bottom dollar instead of the patients.

The whole complex is old and the apartments have many maintenance issues that go unresolved. They claim to be "pet friendly," but charge $500 for one pet. The food is sub-par in terms of menu selections and food preparation. The residents act like grade-school children (spying, tattle-tailing, making nasty comments, etc.). The Executive Director doesn't appear to be empathetic towards residents and tries to use his position to intimidate them. The cost is not worth the service or amenities.

Smelled like urine and all the people were strapped to wheelchairs. Reminded me of the old fashioned nursing homes my grandma was in 30 years ago. It was nasty. I didn't like the set up, granted we are in Florida, but it was not self contained. You would have to be exposed to the weather to get between buildings and it seemed like you'd get hit by winds and heavy rains. I was not impressed one little bit.
