The grounds of the facility are pleasant. As the name, Wyndham Lakes suggests, there are a couple of pretty lakes. There are geese on the property that add to its nature theme. Staff are helpful and friendly. The room size is very decent. They can be slow on maintenance at times, but do respond after assertive inquiries.

Business response:

Hi Karen, your feedback and high star rating mean a lot to us. Thank you for taking the time to leave this review for our community!

Since new management has come in it's clear they are in cost cutting mode. What was not good before has only gotten worse. Housekeeping was slashed to biweekly. Dumb rules. Start painting projects and never finish. List goes on and on. The food is so bad - she has all of her food delivered from the store and cooks in her kitchenette. They have cut out all off-site activities. Transport services have been cut as well.

Very friendly people and there are a lot of activities to help keep residents active and social. On the negative side, most residents complain about the quality and taste of the food and the maintenance of the buildings and grounds are subpar. Good community for someone who doesn't feel comfortable in a luxury setting or desires to pay a high cost for where they live. In the case of my mom, it was a good fit (just needing to deliver way more food than planned).

There's a special place in" HELL" for people who put their parents òr gràñdparentsin in a place like WYNDHAM LAkes. The people who run this place are interested in only one thing, and that is their bottom line. They make their money off the backs of the people who really need help. The so called caregivers treat the elderly here like they are three year Olds very disrespectful..Shame on anyone who would put someone thay care about through this kind of treatment.

Business response:

We are very disheartened that one of our residents has such a low opinion of our wonderful community as his description is not accurate. Though, sadly, we cannot comment as to the cause or the reason for this outburst due to HIPAA privacy laws. We hope that he and his healthcare professionals work together to resolve any outstanding issues that may be present.

I was previously a resident at Wyndham Lakes and I would highly recommend this facility to anyone with elderly relatives who need care/assistance. This facility wasn't a good fit for me because I didn't need the level of care that the facility provided and it was kind of depressing for me. Most of the residents were in their 80s and 90s and in wheel chairs.

Business response:

Thank you for your review! We're glad to hear that you have enjoyed your experience at Wyndham Lakes.

They mismanaged my mom's condition and treated her as a business opportunity to make more money and not as a person. The management staff cares about how many people they can put in memory care (regardless of the need) and that's it. Memory care is double the cost of independent living and even assisted living. The care staff was average, possibly good for some. Overall a horrible place to put your parents or elderly.

Business response:

One of the most heartbreaking issues that any family has to face is the decline in the cognitive ability of their parents. Due to HIPPA rules (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act), we are restricted from commenting regarding a former resident’s care. However, we do take the word “care” seriously and only seek to offer families peace of mind while we care for their parents with a dementia diagnosis. We are genuinely disappointed in your appraisal of our community.

This felt like a facility that suits all peoples needs and it was more affordable than others in the area.

I would tell others to be very careful when you talk to the administrative staff about what you are looking for. They are not upfront about what you will truly get once you move in. They are protective of themselves as for what you can and cannot do. But if you are not getting what you should get, that is a whole different story. The front office staff are very rude. Communication has been a big issue for us as well.

I wouldn't advise or recommend the community to anyone for their loved ones. The community isn't what they said it is and they aren't providing therapy for me. They also said I could take specified medication, and now I'm not able to.
