Everything was good. But got a little swindled when they offered to put together a sushi platter for us. $300 for the platter that served 4 of us and was only part of our dinner not the main. Other than that everything tasted great.
We did a business team dinner (4of us). Fun energetic crowd, beautiful space and appealing aesthetic. could have been a 4 or maybe 5 star. I hate to have docked 2 stars but the server really made for a sub-par experience. He seemed rushed, didn't listen well, brought out our appetizers at different times (not sure if it was a kitchen thing or server) entrees served and different times. The champagne was flat but the food was very good and the service could have been better as we had to ask for everything, chop sticks, soy sauce The food timing was off. Appetizers appeared after the entree Not the end of the world. But that drives me nuts as we told the waiter Thanks. Frank
Came back again and it never disappoints. I’m becoming a regular here and the experience keeps getting better. Tried the new menu and it’s honestly a must—great flavors, beautiful presentation, and everything feels elevated. Service is always on point. Highly recommend if you’re in San Diego.
We decided to try this interesting combo of food which was very good BUT the service was a little underwhelming. Long wait to order and receive drinks in a not crowded at all restaurant. Nice server but I think another profession would be better for her. I would return as what we ordered was delicious but now know they are definitely not on their game.

This was my fourth time at Zama and I keep coming back because everything is great. The food is delicious, the atmosphere is amazing, and the jungle-style decorations make the place feel very unique. It’s a fun and beautiful spot for dinner and a great night out. I’ll definitely be back again.
We had reservation and were accommodated immediately upon arrival. Also, we were able to get a better table upon our request. Service was polite, although it can be more attentive. Everything we ordered was fresh and delicious. Ambiance is great too. I recommend this place.
