Nice looking but not as effective as I expected I am a new pool owner so I depend on my pool guy to educate me. He suggested I buy a pool vacuum. After doing my own research and reading reviews, I thought this MX6 would work. After several months of using it, I noticed some irregularities like it getting stuck frequently on the step and it rolling on the back wheels only (kinda like doing a wheely). I would call Zodiac and they were able to trouble shoot the 'wheely' issue. I won't worry myself about getting stuck on the ste... read more

The spinning Zodiac vac The Zodiac was purchased to replace an aging Kreepy Krauly. On the plus side, the cost of the Zodiac was reasonable, assembly of the hoses was easy, and adjustment of the pressure was also an easy process. I'm not sure about the down side. It could just be that the Zodiac works so differently than the Kreepy (and I've had 2 Kreepys over the past 25 years). The Zodiac often just turns around and around without seeming to propel forward. However, that's what I observe so I found it's better not to watch... read more

Amazing Little Machine This thing is an engineering marvel. Clearly the overall design goal was to create a machine that will operate on very low flow, from pumps down to 1/4 hp, or variable speed pumps like the Pentair (GREAT PUMP BTW). No design is perfect, and there are always trade offs to achieve goals, like low flow performance. If you do not need or want the outstanding low water flow performance and energy savings this cleaner provides, (perhaps you just have a single speed 2.5 hp pump for example), another, hi flow ... read more

My Best Friend My god. I never knew I was a budding plutocrat until I bought this thing. Now I smoke and drink in the shade, while he toils in the heat. Without need for reward nor praise, he proceeds on his drudgery. Powered by the suction alone in my 1hp pool pump, he has singlehandedly... or rather, by virtue of a single robotic manipulation prosthesis... changed my pool for the better. He climbs the walls. He spins in circles. He almost dances in his chore. Now, certain long leaves, he cannot handle. He will stop entirely... read more

Better than my mx8! Doesn't get stuck & performs way better with lower rpms on variable speed pump My mx8 has always gotten stuck where my steps meet the bottom of the pool. I'm not kidding. I would pull it into the middle of the pool and it would get stuck within 1 minute. Non stop. Never ending. Was looking at how it was getting hung up and thought that the mx6 might be better for my pool shape and design. So I bought the mx6 and it has not gotten stuck once! And it was much easier to dial in the suction and flow rate with ... read more

Great Vacuum. Not so great hoses. I am giving this pool Vac 4 stars, although the Vac itself has been 5 stars in my experience. It is the proprietary hoses that are substandard, both in terms of its durability and high cost for short lengths. It worked great in my concrete pool in the Phoenix area for 17 months. So much better and less maintenance than the Hayward which it happily replaced. Only initial issue of note will be encountered if you live near palm trees and encounter wind. In Phoenix that’s common. Thin strands of ... read more

A Little Amphibious Tank Overall we are very pleased with this little guy & he does a great job of rolling around our pool keeping it clean everyday. We nicknamed it our tank due to the tracks that it uses to get around. It isn't the best climber, but it will go up the walls when it hits them right. The only real drawbacks that we have noticed is that we can't use an inline leaf collector due to the proprietary way that the hose connections are made, and it does tend to choke on palm fronds when they get into the pool. Becaus... read more

Upon initial use I was very disappointed. I couldn't get the Zodiac to it's proper ... I purchased this item to replace my my 4 year old Hayward Navigator. I was tired of expensive replacement parts and the constant clearing of debris from the unit. I have a figure '8' shaped pool at 20,000 gallons. Upon initial use I was very disappointed. I couldn't get the Zodiac to it's proper speed, I hooked it up according to the manufacturers specs and it just crept along at 10 wheel revolutions per minute (suppose to be 25 seconds). ... read more

The Zodiac is the BEST pool cleaner I have ever owned. HIGHLY Recommended! I have owned this for around six months and I am FLOORED by the performance of this pool cleaner. I previously had a "kreepy krawly" clone that deteriorated and had to get replaced after 6 months. The Zodiac cleaner, by comparison, smokes the cheap pool cleaners in its performance, reliability, and hassle-free maintenance of my pool. For a novice pool owner, it can be a bit intimidating to get started, but read all the instructions and give it good try... read more
