When we found out that there would be a gap of time between moving our child out of the college dorms and moving her into an apartment, we considered our options. Hiring a moving truck to move her home and then back was quickly discarded due to the cost of truck rental and gas, as well as doing it ourselves. If I could give them less I would. They were friendly at first. The day I went to clear out my unit it was trashed. Only other people that could have gotten in the unit besides myself was there staff. They ransacked my unit. And took what they wanted. And left it trashed.
We came to A1 storage after a TERRIBLE experience with another storage company, so while you think 5 stars for a storage place might be a little overkill, they really exceeded our expectations. We only had a storage unit for about 6 weeks- the first month on one of their "move-in" specials, which was very reasonable, and then they pro-rated the additional two weeks for us. No one ever likes having to get a storage unit because of the moving that goes along with it. A1 makes sure that the process to get one is easy and stress free. Locked premises with gate entry ensures that my stuff wont be tampered with. Great employess with a great attitude about there job. i forgot to take my lock off after I cleared everything out and wasnt too sure about the whole checkout process anyway. When I began my search for a storage unit, I had no idea what a range I would find. My experience with storage units was limited to a few grungy places that got the job done, and felt kinda creepy and dirty, but served their purpose essentially. Boy was I wrong! Perhaps, one is upgrading their life: trying their hand at cohabitation and having to store away some of that embarrassing Simpsons memorabilia collection. Other times, it can signal a downgrade. A passive flow into a smaller home or dwelling which means less than ample closet space. I've been using A1 storage to store all the crap I want but I don't want in my apartment since I moved to Los Angeles. I'm assuming A-1 Self Storage is a smaller operation than Public Storage. It's probably still corporate, but I feel like I'm supporting the little guy? Hmm... the more I think about it the less likely it is that it's a mom and pop operation. Seems at least like a mom and pop franchisee location. Keeps my apartment uncluttered. I've stored my stuff here for more than two years.
