Can I give zero stars? I rented this unit for my 88 y/o mother so she could dispose of her lifetime items when she moved into care housing. The company slapped a $10 Month "insurance" charge onto her account without notifying her. That is a whopping $120 a year involuntary insurance charge for old furniture and mementos!!!! All for junk that fits in a tiny 5x8 unit. Rates are raised about every six months...I'm reviewing all records now and anticipate taking them to court for fraud-find some place else more reputable

This is a great choice for your storage facility needs in South County! It's affordable, safe, clean, and Kathleen really runs the facility well and with attention to detail. She was super flexible with all of my requests and needs, and very responsive to questions. I had my stuff here for a year and I am lucky to have had such a conveniently located place to keep it all while I looked for a new home.

Would not recommend. They get you in with reasonable prices but raise rates by significant amounts every year with zero added benefits or perks. I'm paying almost twice the rate I started at! Finding new storage!

RENTERS BEWARE!!! We were original renters in unit #3(basement) 2 1/2 years ago after the facility first opened. Moved our items in and never touched them. When we moved out 9-8-17, we realized that our mattress had been destroyed by mold. When we contacted Kathleen to let her know, she cancelled our access code although we had one more day per our contract. RENTERS BEWARE: We were the original renters of Unit #3 at this facility when it opened in 2015. We just moved our stuff out this past weekend and our movers discovered leaves and water in our unit! The water appears to have been slowly dripping for quite some time and it leaked on our stuff and seeped into a brand new King mattress that was in a plastic cover (note the mattress cover was purchased directly by A-1 Self Storage). Aside from the ridiculous rent increases after only the first few months, the staff, specifically Kathleen, was very rude. We returned to the unit using the entrance code the facility gave us upon renting. After entering the code, Kathleen came to the door claiming the access code used was for auctioneers only and we weren't supposed to have it. The facility is clean, safe, reasonably priced (despite rent increases), well-lit, and a good place to store household goods between moves. Five stars for that. I rented a storage unit here for a little over a year. Within three months of leasing the unit, our rates increased. I wrote a yelp review to express some serious middle class outrage, which resulted in some soft cyberbullying by their "business manager," who gave out details about my account right here on yelp. Great storage facility! Clean, well monitored and the helpful staff- Kathleen and Alyssa were always available to give help as needed. Price was reasonable as well!
