Horrible experience. Waiter forgot to put in one person’s order. Everyone’s food came out and one person had to wait 15 mins for their meal to come out. Had to ask for bread and drinks twice and our waiter was nowhere to be found, I had to get up and look for him. Overpriced for the quality of food. Will not be going back nor recommend to anyone.
Food was great, but like other restaurants in little Italy, the prices are disproportionate to the value. We did not order any drinks or desserts, and only one appetizer yet we paid $60 per person with tip. Service was very nice and attentive.
I heard great things about allegro. I am looking for a dinner place for a small wedding reception, so I figured why not go eat there and see what the hype was about. Sadly, I was disappointed. It was way too loud in there. It seemed like it should be more fancy because of the food menu and the design of the place but the music was like a pool rave party or something. The food was super disappointing compared to other local Italian restaurants. The chicken dish was almost raw and the cheese on top was a slice of American cheese. Also the plates were plastic. For the $$ not worth it. The pasta dish was average, cold, and they didn’t offer Parmesan cheese unless asked. I usually don’t write reviews but for a local San Diegan I’m never coming back.
My significant other an I attended the Valentine’s Day dinner experience. Although we had reservations we were forced to stand in a line outside in the cold. It seemed as the restaurant overbooked purposefully and threw tables together through the restaurant. It was definitely overcrowded and lacked that “romantic” feeling. The restaurant is nice and the service too but from Italian prospective the food was like a typical Italian-American restaurant and quite expensive…. Sorry but esperienza un po’ “Triste”
The food was mediocre and the pasta over cooked. Had the cavatelle with marinara and sauce, sausage and mushrooms were good but the pasta was way over cooked. Salmon was okay but sauce was average. Artichoke hearts were the best part. Noise level coming from large parties was nearly overwhelming with them screaming at each to communicate. Disappointing all around.

Not great - on the expensive side, food just average. Waitstaff - didn’t like. There are better places with better food nearby. Overall - skip this place. Very limited menu.
