The food is really subpar! I mean, I can whip up better pasta dishes at home! Tables next to is were sending food back (pasta was not cooked!). They seemed to be in a rush to seat and turn tables even though their service and kitchen were all visibly hassled and backed up. Three people, one app, three mains, and drinks totaled up to $225! This is a pure milking station.
Not a good experience overall and won’t be going back.
I’ve never rated a place negatively. But honestly, Allegro kind of sucked. The service was awful (the waiter dripped wine from our bottle all over our table (the one time he actually bothered to refill our wine glasses), ALL of the food came out within minutes of one another (appetizer, salads and main course) and the food itself was chainy Italian tasting and blah. When there are so many fantastic authentic Italian places with excellent service right there in Little Italy, we will not be going back. Neither should you.
Poor service and food quality was not impressive at all
The only thing good about this place was the service, the food was not bad but not good either, I ordered the chef's special and the Alaskan Cob and they gave me salmon, the restrooms were dirty and we had to share toilet paper, I don't think I'm coming back to this place again.
Servers were not attentive at all. We felt like every time we need anything it was a huge bother to them. Water never got refilled, nobody asked if we wanted more wine, I had to ask 3 times to get an extra plate and when a glass broke they never offered to sweep the glass away from under the table. Oh and on top of the service issues, the food was decent. Nothing to make you feel like coming back.
Food was not great. The service lacked in all departments. Our waiter seemed annoyed at every interaction he had with us. Very disappointed.
The service was slow, the bread was not fresh, the Caesar salad was significantly over-dressed, and the gnocchi was not truly gnocchi. We felt like it was a bit of a rip-off considering the prices.
Service was very poor. Took forever to get water and menus. Food was not very flavorful in spite of ordering several different dishes. We never were offered fresh parm cheese for our pasta. The kicker was when we got our bill they charged us $2 extra for ordering tequila on the rocks instead of neat. When we asked waitress she said that’s what she’s told to do and she doesn’t make up the charges.
