They don’t just credit you or send a check. They try to find a replacement. That takes extra time, with a 1-2 day turnaround. Unfortunately, the model I have isn’t made anymore, and the replacements they suggested weren’t to my liking (not that they were bad, but I’m picky). Also, they said that they had to receive the defective unit before they would replace it (although ultimately that wasn’t the case). My mini-fridge crapped out and stopped cooling after 3 yrs of use and fortunately I had opted for the 5 yr protection plan which came in handy. Was able to get a check reimbursement of the purchase price so I could I get a replacement. The claims process took about 30 minutes from start to finish. The agent helped walk me through it and answered my questions and concerns.
