As it turns out, instead of repairing the item, they sent me another one, new. Very satisfied and would recommend SquareTrade. There was no out of pocket expenses on my end, and no questions asked. "
"I left my speedlight flash unit on top of my car and drove off. It fell off into traffic and was run over several times. The largest piece was about 1 inch square. Literally smashed to pieces. I called Square trade and was a little concerned because I hadn't taken the time to register the item. They were very professional and after I sent them a photo of the pieces I had been able to recover they processed my claim and I should have the funds to get a replacement item next week. I was very pleased with the entire process."
