I used amerigas for one year, after they charged me double what I was quoted I asked for a detailed bill which they could not provide. I asked for months for them to provide this. Finally when I was fed up with the run around I asked for them to remove the tank - to which I was told that I would pay a fee for terminating the contract 2 weeks early - which was fine with me. When they removed my tank they took my regulator and mounting blocks. I was told in order to get them back I would have to prove they were mine and not pr... read more

This is the worst business that I have EVER dealt with. Horrific customer service and fraudulent billing. It would take too long to detail all of the issues that we had with Amerigas over the several years that they were our propane supplier. We recently switched to Ferrell and so far the experience has been worlds better. One final, egregious issue with Amerigas is that when we went to close our account to move to a different provider, Amerigas collected our tanks and did not credit us for the remaining propane ($1534.70) d... read more

The prices are higher than any other company, they won't come out and fix the gas in my fireplace even though it's a gas issue. Saying they'll charge 2 to $300 to do it. Once they're on your property you can't change companies because then they say you have to take the tank out of the ground. And I'm not going to do that. They are very bad company

They get one star for their prices. When searched for my local propane provider a little over a year ago on the internet and when clicked on the call I ended up calling Amerigas. I assumed that they bought them out only to find out that they hadn't. Still not sure how they did that. Amerigas seemed okay in the beginning, but that was before I was put on auto delivery for propane. I didn't know that had happened until they showed up out of blue without checking if I actually wanted more propane and filled my tank. I then dema... read more

My dad is 90 years old and has had an account with AmeriGas at his home for over 20 years. He has 2 propane tanks on his property that he leases from Amerigas. Several months back the gas company said they could not fill one of the tanks because something was wrong with it and it might leak. Then AmeriGas billed my 90-year-old father a bill for $631 to replace the tank he has been leasing for years. They said it had corrosion on the tank and treated my dad like he did something to cause it and that was why he was being charg... read more

We purchased our house July 2020. The previous owners had propane thru local Gas Company, Wakulla Gas. When it came time to transfer the service to our account, we found out Amerigas had purchased the previous company. We didn't have time to research other companies, so we figured we'd stay with Amerigas. Big Mistake. Fast forward to July 2023, as limited in typing information. July 14, 2023 St Joe Gas contacted Amerigas telling Amerigas that they, St Joe Gas was now the new provider and Amerigas needed to come get their tan... read more

MORE EXPENSIVE PROPANE WITH THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE!! I was with Amerigas for 2.5 years before we canceled after we realized they were charging almost $2/gallon more for propane than the other companies in the area. When I called to cancel they said that they would waive the cancellation fee as well as the tank pick-up fee, and I would just have to call back after the account closed to get the fees removed. I did as they said and after 2 months, several phone calls, and online chats with their representatives the charges ... read more

I agree, AmeriGas is an awful company. As a new homeowner, I unfortunately bought a house with a leased propane tank from AmeriGas, thinking it was owned. My mistake for not asking the right questions. Issues arose when I got a bill a week after setting up the account, amounting to over $900 for gas. However, the local AmeriGas representative claimed the tank was 75% full. It turns out, since the house was vacant for 8 months, AmeriGas shuts off the gas and supposedly refunds the previous owner for the remaining gas in the t... read more

AmeriGas started charging for non gas services. Price lock in for prices 1 dollar a gallon higher than the local company, then added 36 dollar a month late fee, then took those off or said they would and told me it was a contract I did not sign. The I tried to cancel and they sent me to a retention specialist who was submitting my request charge me another months late fee and then an extra 290 tank free rental. so now I started at 127 dollars was changed to 600 dollars in charges, non of this is for any gas at all. I feel it... read more
