We cancelled an account with Amerigas in December of 2022. They have tried to charge us a year tank rent that was disconnected, It took Amerigas 11 months to pick up the disconnected tank after several phone calls, written requests, and even interrupting a company delivery driver. We have written to the company corporate office and the billing department to dispute the bill but no resolution. I am a new Amerigas customer and not happy with them at all. After signing on with them, they brought one of their tanks, swapped out the tank belonging to another LPG company with their tank. The installer checked to ensure no gas leak. As soon as the Amerigas tank was installed and gas valve opened, my Rinnai tankless gas water heater stopped working. I have been an Amerigas customer for 20 years and every time I have an issue that I need to speak with someone, I am infuriated. Horrible call center in the Phillipines. No one can answer your questions unless it is simple. You cannot reach any local office in the US and the website even says do not walk in their office. I have been waiting for a call back from local customer service for 5 days. Once I get a number I will post it on every review site so people will be able to contact someone in the states. Terrible business practices, incompetent customer service, and under-trained technicians. Takes weeks to get propane delivered, constant issues with deliveries. Trying to charge me $800 for my neighbors delivery, and giving me the worst time for fighting it. Billed $200+ for one of THEIR techs mistakes. Stole a unit from my property without notifying me. Worst of all, their customer service line is just full of people that never understand what i’m saying and offer little to no help.
Nothing but issues with this company. Was on automatic delivery and they let me run out and took a week to bring propane out. Left in cold house for that long. Second time called and scheduled delivery for propane and driver came out without calling so locked the services so I didn’t have heat again. Called and they sent service text out days later and he said (which I have on ring camera) that I would not be charged for a reconnect fee due to poor service and just received a bill for 319.99 for reconnect.
I closed my account in August after we sold our house and then have spent 5 months trying to get them to stop billing me for the tank rental. Each month I was assured it was taken care of and the next month another statement with another n late fee would arrive in the mail. Each time I would call spend close to an hour on the phone and be assured it was taken care of and then the next month another tank rental bill and another late fee would show up on the statement. AmeriGas is the worst in service delivery and customer service. We are now a full week into our order which they charged immediately but no delivery. Customer portal shows today as the last day in the window and we are being told it will be another 4 days. This is the second time they have done this. I will be looking for a new provider come Monday.
9/9/22 they bill me $1022.6 for 375 gallons $2.139 per gallon and $140 for leak check and all the tax and service fee . 10/3/22 1 month later they bill me $708.16 for 209 gallon $3.019 per gallon. I said no , this is nonsense. Nobody’s come and fill the propane, I have a camera all over my house , I didn’t see nobody show up and just one month I don’t need another 209 gallon of gas . I have had nothing but issues with this propane company from the start. I own my propane tank, but it needed to be relocated, I did not expect the bill to be as high as it was.That being said it was done and I was happy to be warm finally If you don’t pay within 30 days like any bill,late fees start, and you won’t get anymore propane so long as you owe them money.
