Horrible scammers! The house I moved into came with an Amerigas tank and I didnt know any better. Signed a 3 year contract. They charge nearly twice as much per gallon as local propane providers and its a nightmare to try to talk to any customer service reps. **** out for auto delivery conveniently the day after propane prices spiked, even though my tank was at 60%. I cancelled auto delivery and used up what was left in the tank, new provider came out and moved Amerigas tank, hooked up new tank free of charge. Hadnt gotten p... read more

I WAS a client for over *********************************************************************** 2000. I was on "stay full" status so they were responsible for keeping the propane tank full. several times a year I would come home from work to find I had no gas. I would call and get a refill that evening. Every time Amerigas would try to charge me an additional fee for a pressure test. I would call and after many minutes with a call center I would usually get the fee removed, but it was always a chore. last fall Amerigas said ... read more

I have never seen a company with this bad a service. All the things people are saying about them are absolutely true.

There is a reason why most or all reviews of Amerigas re one star - I just wish they had a zero star option. **************** is atrocious. I had issues with their billing procedures (kept on getting "Past Due" notices for first-time billing), decided to cancel and go with a local propane supplier. Trying to cancel the contract was an ordeal in itself, then I got a bill for $445.18 ($299.99 for pickup charge for the tank, plus another $119.99 for Dispatch Fee; with taxes, it came to $445.18. Although I think that the pickup ... read more

In April 1, 2025 Amerigas replaced a 500 gal propane tank that was 25 years old. The technician missed a leak and Amerigas kept delivering 1034 gal over a few months when I normally use 300 gal per year. I showed my usage data and they only credited 100 gal when 734 gal were lost. I've escalated 5 times but the resolution team will not help or go against the regional districts investigation. I keep escalating every other week. I have thousands of dollars lost which is easily tracked. For 25 years Amerigas charged me $4.99 a ... read more

Was charged for checking regulator system. $421 for 1.2 hours work. The service man took only 10 minutes to check system, if that. Was never told about a service call charge. The gentleman was there that long, but we were talking about person family business. Had nothing to due with why I called Amerigas. Called them to complain. They said they would get back to me. But, they never did.

I have been the account holder for 10 plus years. They tried to deliver propane without the 24 hr email notification. (We are 1 hour out of town) said they couldn't find the tank. No kidding? They couldn't even access the property!!!!. I called and they said I'm not on the account! Asked to speak with my dead parents! They were sent death cert YEARS ago. Would not let me reorder. How come they were able to make the original order!? I was on the account three days ago. Unfortunately it's a conglomerate so I'm probably stuck w... read more

I called for someone to come out to look at the tank and give an idea about having it moved (they installed it where it shouldn't have been installed). The technician came out, walked around and said new location would be too far for truck to fill, and left. I got an invoice for $243 (dispatch fee and site survey). I was never informed there would be any charges and after several calls, they would not take the site survey cost off even though nothing was done nor reported. I was offered a $25 discount. I asked about cancelli... read more

Amerigas was given 48 hours notice to pick up a leased tank from my home on 7/14/25, I called them on 7/23/25 for the 3rd time to ask why they hadn't picked up the tank. They made excuses and said it was my fault for not scheduling the pickup. What was the point of the 48 hours to pickup notice? I told them it's not my responsibility if the tank gets stolen, and they threatened me that if the tank isn't there on the 28th!!! when they have the pick up scheduled, that they'll turn my into collections for the lease. This busine... read more
