Gas leak - strong gas smell in house all of a sudden. Called Amerigas emergency and they did send out someone (3 hours later after I had to make a 2nd call). At this point it was after 11:00 pm. Technician locked off propane tank so we could go back in house but didnt have the correct equipment to find the leak. Said company would send someone next day. If you love prices that are double a local supplier, customer "service" by non-English speakers in ***** and draconian contract terms, this is your company! I inherited them when I bought a house two years ago and should have done due diligence. My bad. After I started paying attention and discovered their prices were DOUBLE a local supplier, I called to cancel. There is a $150 cancellation fee and they wanted to charge me $568 for tank pick up. This company charges fees that are unnecessary and bogus. I closed business w with them and was charged exorbitant fees for removal of tanks I had 4 two at house and two at garage with an apt $299 pick up fee twice because apt had different address but was literally the same driveway 2 on left and 2 on right. A fee for calling to have tanks picked up $199 and a delivery fee for all deliveries for the year $418)
So I've noticed the pattern that if you're on automatic fill and there's 5 weeks in a month they're going to come and force a delivery no matter how full your tank is ,trying to get that extra paycheck out of your hand. Now they got some a**** calling me, after they've put me in a blind, stole my summer and child's graduation and I still owe money. They came and delivered when I still owed money. Worst customer service I have experienced since the local office closed and they outsourced these services to you know where. I had a delivery made in February of 2025, and as of April of this same year, my tank shows 15% remaining fuel. I schedule 1 delivery per year, typically in January or February, we do not use very much propane as the majority of the house runs on an electric water heater, gas is only for a few appliances. If I could put less that 1 star I would! My daughter had to go without gas (which is her stove and only source of heat) when it was so cold because the driver claimed he couldnt drive around! I had no problem driving around to the tank the day before! It was just cold and a Friday evening and he must have been too lazy! So called and got another company to place a tank! How do I file multiple formal complaints.1 Our account was never set up properly 2 After figuring this out, we chatted and ordered mpre propane. called to schedule cancelation of service before move. they locked our tanks a week early. tried to get service restored, and was lied to by several customer service **** about steps in the process. saying i was scheduled for hook up, then calling the next day and the service *** saying the account was not set up properly and they do not have anyone to come reconnect and i was never scheduled for service. then again calling after that was fixed and being lied to that we were next on the technicians schedule, called again aft... read more
Amerigas tried charging me for their leaking tank. Never again. Their prices per gallon are twice as much than other propane companies. I have changed.
