They are the WORSE!. They lie, they overcharge, they come up with all kinds of things to charge you for. They don't show up and have no excuse. I bought my own tank just to not deal with them anymore. They are suppose to pick up their tank and it's 6 months later and they still haven't picked it up or given me my credit owed. Another happy Amerigas customer! I would not give them any starts. My complaint sounds the same as everyone else. When we bought our home in August, 2022, we assumed the Amerigas account that the previous owners established. I made three appointments for a technician to come verify the system was working properly before they would top off the tank and transfer the account to us. Absolutely terrible!!!!! Outsourced customer service so that I cannot get anything rectified. Was lied to at least 5 times regarding a resolution. Was scammed by them adding gas when my tank was at 50% full they filled it right as summer was here and priced dropped.
My problem with AmeriGas truly comes down to their accounting. They claim to strive for 100% customer satisfaction, yet they are far below substandard in all respects. There is no published phone number that connects to someone in the U.S., instead the phone call is answered by a call center in the Philippines where the person says they will escalate the concern to a higher level. This company took a $900 payment even after I removed autopay. The reason I removed autopay was because they sent me a bill for $900 and when I disputed they said someone will be investigating and autopay had been discontinued until the issue was resolved. A few days later it was taken anyway. I have called every 3 days since the middle of April and every time I am told it is being investigated or that the check will be mailed to me in 7 days both of which have not happened. Beware of this company! Amerigas charred me $217.00 to come out and look at the tanks and did absolutely nothing. Then they charged me $139.00 to remove their tanks. Amergas also will not credit me for the 30% of propane they took when tanks were removed. Been waiting for 5 months for credit but they bill me each month with a late charge. $400.00 plus billed and not one gallon of propane received. Pricing is crazy. Amerigas is the worst company I've ever dealt with when it comes to utilities. While every call with their godforsaken call center assures me I'm a "valued customer," I haven't had propane since May 12. I paid for expedited service, which I didn't get. At least they refunded that. They came to deliver propane and there was a mystery "problem" with the tank. They came 3-4 days later to "fix" it. Then another 4 days to refill it. I have got slow service took 6 month to get hooked up. Then the first time I ordered propane took a month for them to deliver. Now they charge $1.50 more then I would pay at the gas station. When I ask them why all they would say is that's the market price. Well that's funny because when I called when I told them I was price checking they said they go over $3.00 a gallon. So if you like to deal with crooked people try Amerigas.
One star is generous. We called for propane at 30% and waited & waited. Called multiple times to get delivery without success. They would schedule the appointment and not show up. We eventually ran out of propane and we had to heat water on the stove to do dishes and take baths. That was 3 months ago & we have never been able to reach anyone that is able to get someone out here.
