The Animal ER of University Park, L.L.C. is staffed by veterinarians and licensed or highly experienced veterinary technicians who are physically present during all operating hours. The Animal ER is a well equipped facility with diagnostic, surgical and life-saving equipment. The Animal ER of University Park was created because the people of north Sarasota county and the entirety of Manatee county were having to travel too far for veterinary emergency care which at the time was located in south Sarasota county. Thank you Dr. Aunt Pam, Aaron and Andi of Animal ER for looking after me tonight when I ate my medicine...and the tube...and the cap..... My Mom says you all are the absolute best humans around! We are so lucky to have an emergency room that looks after curious puppies like myself! Mr. Maximus Hagrid, 10 month old Tibetan Mastiff.
Took my new 10 week old Chihuahua to the er one evening ($456.00), and 30 hours later he had kidney failure and had to be euthanized. If they had done a simple blood test we possibly could of saved him. I told them he had not tinkled for 2 days and that seems to have been ignored. Won’t return. Heartbroken
I’ll start with the only positive I can share, the receptionist was kind. Otherwise it was a LONG miserable visit. We waited for 2-1/2 hours and only saw the vet tech. After asking for how much longer, being told 15 minutes ( assuming no emergencies arrived) we left. Never saw a vet. To add insult, I was charged $16. For the tech weighing my cat. I wouldn’t take your sick pet there unless you have all day!
I was very disappointed in the overall experience I had with my puppy. I came in with a snake bite for my dog and before I could get comfortably in the front door they were asking for my debit card. Overall, the vets and receptionist were sweet, kind, and helpful. The vet tech I encountered however, was not. She was abrasive, rude, and distasteful in the manner with which she performs her job. It was disappointing that in my time of trying to do what was best for my dog I also had to encounter a woman with zero bedside manne... read more
Bottom line up front: i appreciate their pictures of my dog throughout his unexpected stay at the ER; however, I’m concerned about their ability to follow surgeon provided directions when caring for their patients. I’m disappointed in this experience, seeing as they have decent online reviews. Hopefully this is a fluke. If you have an emergency with your pet, by all means reach out to them; however, if there’s a choice, i will find another ER in the future. 1. My pup had to have fairly urgent surgery to repair a herniate... read more
Dr. Sorrentino misdiagnosed our dog when we brought her in 11/25/18. When I questioned her about her symptoms with her diagnosis(because they didn't match up) she put her hands on her hips, shrugged her shoulders, and said "I don't know" Our dog DIED a week later.!!! We took her to another ER where she was properly diagnosed. I seriously question her license and attribute our dog's death due to wrong diagnosis provided by your doctor.
tonight i called because a friend of mine found 4 baby kittens in a dumpster... the lady said that it was ok to bring them... well when my friend called another lady answered and said that "she didnt have the heart for these animals like her co workers" what a nasty person. i cant believe you guys employ people like this. its one thing to not take them but its another thing to have a ridiculous woman say the things she said.
One week ago today, I brought my little Whitley here. She had a temp of 103.8. The vet did an ultrasound and x-ray and reported to me that she had a hemangiomasarcoma on her spleen and needed a splenectomy. My reaction was "she was just fine this morning". She also informed me that with or without surgery--without chemo--my Will-Will would die in 3-5 months. You can only imagine my grief. I said absolutely to the surgery until another person walked in with the "proposal" of $3000-$4700!! She asked me if I wanted a moment to ... read more
