On previous visits I booked an afternoon or late morning appointment and had to wait many hours to be seen. Most recently, I booked the first slot, and it was much better. I'd recommend Dr. Hanneken for her competence and experience, but either get the first slot of the day or be prepared to spend the entire day there. For the first few hours you'll be in the waiting room so can read, but once you're brought back to be dilated you'll spend several more hours in the second waiting room with dilated eyes, unable to read.
Dr. Anne Hanneken provided me with exceptional care. My ophthalmologist referred me to her practice when I experienced concerning symptoms (continuous flashes and floaters in one eye). Dr Hanneken has saved and kept my only good eye healthy so I can still see and be able to function normally. The time and care she takes to make me feel better is a blessing to me.
The visit was smooth and efficient. Extremely knowledgeable staff. Dr Hanneken was kind, professional. Can't ask for a better retina doctor in San Diego and California!!

I recently had new eye symptoms & was concerned about my eye health. I didn’t have an eye doctor, but reached out to Dr Henneken & Retinal Consultants of San Diego. I was a NEW patient, & described my symptoms to the young lady answering the phone & she made a SAME DAY appointment for me!! I was absolutely floored!
