We love our doctor, but we have been repeatedly frustrated with the staff at NSPEDS. Anything that involves paperwork beyond the front desk is very, very frustrating. The latest issue has been regarding getting simple camp health forms filled in. We were told to email them in, and that they would be filled in and returned. We emailed them in, and then heard nothing. We heard nothing after several emails and follow up phone calls from us. This office is very disappointing. We had our son at the Honor Health Scottsdale hospital and couldn't be happier. Thought it would be a great experience at the pediatrics down the street but we were sorely wrong. The doctors are nice enough but the front desk staff is cold and incompetent. The assistants are rude and inefficient. They don't know how to bill or schedule appointments correctly. The office is nicely decorated but the equipment is outdated. If you go here, expect to wait a long time and have poor service.

We are leaving the practice. My 5 year old was showing signs of a bladder infection so I called to get her in, it was 1pm. They told me there was no one I could see until the following morning. I was leaving town and told them this which they just suggested going to urgent care. We did and she did in fact have an infection. It took 5 min at an urgent care and a $300 bill later. This place is so unorganized. We moved from Florida 18 months ago. We had our previous pediatrician send all medical records to them so we could continue immunizations for our 1 and 3 year old. Now we are trying to enroll our daughter in Kindergarten and can't get a copy of the immunizations. They say they have no record that she is up to date, but when I brought her at her 4 year old check up, they said she was. I have taken my children to NSPA for 16 years but I am disappointed in the direction they are taking. It takes FOREVER to get anyone on the phone. It took over 10 minutes last time I tried to make an appointment. Yesterday we had an appointment with a nurse for an immunization. We waited 45 minutes and left. Maybe they have grown too fast and can't keep up. And quite honestly the front office people could be much friendlier- when did "Photo ID and insurance card" become a greeting? Five issues. First: My son had an object lodged in his ear. The doctor tried to flush it out, then directed a nurse to flush it out, without success. My son was in intense pain. I stopped the efforts and went to our ENT. He pulled out a large piece of crayon wrapper that was lodged in very deeply. He needed special tools to do it, and said the irrigation made the situation worse and that the pediatricians office had no business trying to do what they did. Unbelievably horrible service!!!! Pat and Joyce are unreasonable and appear to be highly confused with their job duties. Our family was over billed and they simply refused to make amends.

Wow - we haven't even been to this office yet and have already been given a bad impression. . I called to reschedule my sons appointment and the front desk clerk had a major attitude problem. This is a disappointment, because we received a recommendation from a friend. I am going to keep the appointment and see how the visit goes. First let me say, I would give Dr Pottgen 50 stars if I could. She was always amazing with my twins. She was super attentive, listened to my concerns and communicated clearly. However, my issue is with their billing and insurance. They charged me for every well visit when my twins were born although my insurance covered it at 100%. It took them months to catch on, so by this time I had shelled out $50 for every appointment. They owed me over $200.
