RESTORED POWER IN TWO ROOMS
GD.JOB ON MAJOR REWIRING/ GD.$$
I called and left a message on Saturday to set an appointment. Monday morning I received a call back and set an apt. At that time I mentioned I have a home warranty that I would be using. The lady said this would be no problem. Several hours later I received a call from the owner explaining he does not deal with warranty companies and if I wanted to pay him for service I should call him back to confirm my apt. Forget it. I could tell from his tone this is not someone I want to work with.
Business response:
Upon scheduling the service visit, Mr. [Member Name Removed] did mention to my customer service representative that he had a home warranty. He stated, at that time, he expected Ashpaugh Electric to contact his warranty company once we had diagnosis to confirm coverage and obtain payment from his warranty company. Ashpaugh Electric is glad to help with home warranty repairs, however we request the home warranty be paid for by the client and they seek reimbursement from their home warranty company. With not fully knowing the c... read more
technician didn't connect old to new wire to pull through, so he had to fish it out, which took an extra 45 minutes
The gentleman came out made a mess didn't fix the light. We found the parts that were needed called them to return and fix the light but charged us again. Cost a lot for this quick repair.
Business response:
We did make a service visit to the homeowner's home on July 17, 2017 for a ceiling fixture in the kitchen that had caught fire and an exhaust fan that was inoperative. This service repair visit was on an Angie's List Big Deal for two hours of electrical labor. Upon our arrival my Master Electrician determined that the lighting fixture was obsolete due to its age and we would not be able to replace it with a new fixture. This was determined by contacting me at my office while my electrician was onsite so I could do a search o... read more
Did not use for project.
Business response:
Ashpaugh Electric is saddened to find that our potential client is dissatisfied with our quoting process. Unfortunately, when we were out to the home owner's home to look at the new under cabinet lighting, we had an extreme reduction in temperatures which were below zero. This caused numerous electrical emergencies and caused us to not be able to respond as quickly as we normally would. The electrical installation that was discussed with the home owner onsite was to be made without any drywall cutting or damage. Our quotatio... read more
Disappointed that I waited 4 days until they could come out to only cancel the morning they were supposed to be here. An electrician called in sick so my only choice was to reschedule to a different day. It was a small job that I would have hoped they could have fit in.
Business response:
Unfortunately, due to our service work load just before Thanksgiving, we did have a small back log in our service work. The morning the homeowner's service repair was scheduled my Electrician unexpectedly called in sick with Flu symptoms. My work schedule was already full and set for the day and I could not schedule in another job that day. We did ask the homeowner to allow us to move it to the next day so we could respond as quickly as possible. Brian Ashpaugh, CEO
They did a good job in that things works as required, but took more time than I thought needed. I had to pay for extra time and materials. Also, there was an young assistant who was repeatedly causing large sparks while working on live circuits. Seemed very dangerous, and makes me wonder about the quality of the work, long term.
Business response:
The homeowner had contracted through Angie's List for two hours of electrical labor, however there was a good deal more work than the two hours of electrical labor could provide. We installed: new circuitry for new pull chain fixture, circuitry for a new GFCI protected receptacle in their mechanical room for a water softener, and replaced an overheated receptacle in laundry room. The client was only billed for the amount of labor that was over the two hours of electrical labor and the required materials needed for the projec... read more
