AWFUL would be an understatement. The guy shows up with another guy and complains about the fact that our house is old. He then interrupts us to make sure to tell us that the rate we paid through Angie's List does not apply after the first hour. He said any time after the one hour would be $45 per hour because there were two of them. It is disappointing that the homeowner is disappointed with their Angie's List Big Deal they purchased. We did make an onsite electrical service visit. Upon our arrival, we found there were multiple home remodeling trades that were working on the home. Unfortunately, due to the amount of work that was going on throughout the home, a number of wires going to multiple interconnected switches, outlets, and lighting had been removed with no identification as to the configuration of the wiring. It is disappointing that our customer has had a very bad experience with my company. The customer had attempted to replace, themselves, multiple multi-location switches on inner connected circuits and was not able to accomplish what they set out to install. When we arrived there were multiple switches that had been disconnected and had not been properly identified. We had nothing but problems. The came to do a periodic maintenance on our electric and I never got a report. I called them at least 15 times. They called me twice and gave me the same excuse and I have got nothing. Their price was high. I have had them do some work in the past and their quality was good. Only the receptionist calls me back yet I wanted the owner to call me back.
Technician was very good. My issue is entirely about the cost which was outrageous. It was disclosed before I authorized the work but I was upside down before he arrived with $70 trip fee for 4 mile drive from their office. No trip fee credit towards repair. $69 additional to replace one plug; Total charge $139 for a $20 part; 5 minutes of diagnostic and 10 minute repair. I would never use this business again.
Verbal contracts: beware of promises made. Sloppy work. Rust corrosion found in light switch to the pool light along with a wire barely connected to the terminals causing the GFI to trip constantly (with corrosion off that terminal). The top right cover screw was loose to that light switch as well. No reply from owner regarding structural damage from sloppy drilling. My husband arranged to be off work 7/3 in order to have service, but the appointment was canceled because the electrician was sick. The owner of the company called to apologize which was appropriate. Unfortunately, his words did not equate to improved customer service; e.g. no notice to his staff to avoid this pitfall with us in the future.
