I have always had a pleasant experience at Aspen. Was disappointed that the hygienist left but the new was just as pleasant. Dr Sash is an amazing dentist and is always a fun guy to be with (especially for a dentist). Now here is where the 1 star is missing. Billing. Every time I am in there we argue about billing. They claim insurance does not pay for 100% and I say they do. Got suckered this time as I had to pay for a cavity (which I know isn't 100%). I have never felt the need to write a bad review until now. I had an appointment at 1 PM today and arrived at 12:45 PM and walked to the door. There was an elderly couple, the woman was trying to open the door for her husband who was using a walker. I was a little confused and asked if it was locked. It was, and I am not sure of the reason why?!?! We both waited patiently in our cars for 15 minutes. The woman was confused and grabbed someone from US-Cellular to try and open the door. I walked in with a cracked tooth and they told me i need oral surgery then they shoot u a price between 5-6000 just for the surgery and they say that thjs needs to get done fast so that because of the infection in the jaw . I mentioned the U of I school of dentistry and they will not give me a referral . The college says it will take months to get it done without a referral. Staff was friendly when making appointment. I asked if they took Medicaid and they indicated they did not but the first appointment was free so they could evaluate what needed to be done then discuss payment options. When we arrived they refused to see us and turned us away because Medicaid was mentioned even though we would likely pay out of pocket for services that were emergent. Disappointed we were turned away especially when we were told we would not be.
This company is a thief. They lie to you and manipulate the service to get you to pay more money than you should for less service. The doctor is a rude hateful person who thinks it is ok to talk to patients like they are trash. I would suggest find another dentist before you get totally ripped off.
I took my granddaughter to the Aspen Dental in Cedar Rapids, IA and I could not be more thrilled at the experience there. Everyone was so amazing and took care of all of her needs.
I have never been happy with the Iowa City or Cedar Rapids location. They are operated by the same dentist. He is rude & very unpleasant. Once they get their money your screwed. Forget the guarantee, you're stuck. I have made my last trip to them, and am stuck with ill-fitting upper dentures & lower partial.
I had to have four wisdom teeth pulled. I woke up when they were pulling my bottom teeth. I struggled and cried they restrained me and kept working. I felt so much pain at that moment I can't tell you if they put me back to sleep or I passed out. I do remember a women holding my hand however trying to keep me calm.
