Update: After I sent a text to the salesman who sold me the Daiken heat pump system, letting him know the problem with the office personnel not wanting to honor the warranty, he forwarded it on to upper management, and two days later I received a call from the same person "Brandy" who was unwilling to honor the warranty originally and who never got back to me after sending her the requested photos of the screen with holes in it and the rubber flapping outside the vent. In 2019 I spent over $8,000 with Associated for a completely new HVAC system with a 10 year warranty. I had also joined their service membership for seasonal inspections. Recently, they had called to ask if I wanted to renew my membership as the credit card on file had expired. I gave them a new number and they scheduled a service tech to come out and do a service inspection. Well, they had found a blown capacitor that needed replacement, that cost me about $130. If there was a rating for customer service of zero I would have chosen this. My experience w Associated Heathing and Cooling withing the last year has been less than joyous. After my HVAC started leaking I called for service. The original service man who came to fix the unit after working on it for nearly 3 hours stated "I've done everything possible, if it still leaks after today please have a technician come back and reach out to the manufacturer technicians for support" , "I've put it in my notes". 06-22-2021 Associated Heating and Air Conditioning sent a technician, James, to our house to check on issues with our AC unit not cooling the house properly. After a short period of time, he came the conclusion that we were low on refrigerant, and maybe we had a slow leak. He added "13 ounces of R 410 A" to our system thinking this would resolve the issue. After doing so, the system still didn't seem to improve. This company likes to over charge seniors. Several incidents with seniors in Falconwood Village. Mostly overcharging them. A couple of people had other companies come in and do necessary work and were charged a lot less. Example told my one friend it was 3000.00 dollars for parts and labor. She called someone else and it cost her 250.00 instead. Same person had a new heat pump put in by Associated. The motor went out in less than a year. Please avoid this company! 1. Bought an central AC unit a year or two ago, stopped providing cool air in this summer, seems a bit odd but ok stuff happens 2. tech comes over, inspects unit says "everything looks fine".....ummm no cold air is coming from the vents. I ask about this and the possibility of a coolant leak, tech states "Oh....I dont actually fix anything like that....you need to have another tech come out to look at the coolant." I spent $15,000.00 on an installation of a heat pump 3 yrs ago. The last few days I haven't been able to get the heat pump to cool under 68. I just had it service February 11th. So I called Associated spoke with Sheena and explained I have read the book a few times and it won't work as per the instructions. She didn't care. The most unpleasant people I have ever dealt with. They called an hour before they were suppose to show up and because we didn't answer the phone they canceled the visit. Rescheduled weeks later. There are better companies to deal with.
I've been with Associated since 2005, paying for their service club membership the whole time. They have just informed me that because my system is now 15 years old, I am no longer eligible for the services I've been paying for. This policy was not mentioned when selling me the 'gold membership' nor is it in any of the paperwork they gave me. I believe this is an unethical business practice.
