Absolutely one of the worst cases of treatment of animals that I've experienced in a long, long time. Please, please do not patronize this awful place. It is a literal House of Horrors. The monkeys were so traumatized that they kept screaming out. (Not fun and happy and content Monkey sounds, but the screams of pain.) Other animals were so lethargic and despondent that they just slept the whole time. I have never seen such hideous enclosures for animals. I can not express enough how much the staff made our trip here absolutely wonderful. The gentleman at the front desk that helped us with our passes, I apologize for not catching your name, was extremely helpful and really started us off with a great visit!! You see, I am disabled and use a manual wheelchair, so I am used to watching everyone else have fun while I miss out but not here. An aquarium in the middle of a strip mall. Very small enclosures for the animals and they have no sunlight at all. Its not clean at all. I love zoos and aquariums but this was just sad.

Yes, it is small. You can spend a lot of time and money or you can walk through for very little money. We had a lot of fun. The animals seemed very happy and the staff really cared about the animals. Enjoy the animals and you w I'll have a good time.

Very very cool experience , I took my son while visiting the area and he got to feed exotic birds, salt water fish, porcupines, and all sorts of animals. He really really loved it! I enjoyed it and so did my girlfriend. Glad we went to experience this aquarium.

Possibly fun if you don't care about animals. Animals like lemurs are packed in to questionable enclosures. The capybara is all alone and the otters seem to have very inadequate enrichment. The boa constrictor tank is absolutely too small for such a large animal. Just about all the animals can be fed or touched with minimal to no supervision from staff. Seems super risky for people and animals. Birds and ducks and lemurs never get outdoor access and pens are depressing. Clearly a cash grab with no interest in animal welfare.... read more

It was a fun experience for my 1 year old. Lovely animals, especially had a fun experience in the bird enclosures.. However the place is a bit pricey(Spent $107 for just my mother and i and thats not even including my child) Tokens are used to feed animals but theres barley any food for the animals in stock.. Quite hazardous and not so spacious, lots of unsupervised children running around which makes it IMPOSSIBLE to get by (Mind you most of the flooring is wet too) Place is really small, and too packed.

Never knew there was an aquarium in Austin! This place is pretty cool for the kids but most of the interactions were closed or kids younger than 6 weren't allowed to participate. We bought about 10 tokens which can be redeemed for fish food along the exhibits or the interactions. We struggled to find ways to use those tokens so would definitely recommend being a little conservative since you can always go back to the entrance and buy more. Review from my 8 year old who can't stop talking about how sad he is for the animals. Poor little Animals at the Austin Aquarium. They are cramped and they can't move at all. I feel bad about them and I hope that this place gets shut down. Thumbs down to the Austin Aquarium. Boo!!
