Woefully understaffed. It's too small for the price. You have to hunt down a staff member for the animal encounters. Good thing is that if the animals don't cooperate you get your tokens back.
The aquarium was such an amazing experience. You are able to encounter so many different animals and is such an amazing time! The staff is all very friendly and knowledgeable. Sky was super informative and extremely nice. If you have a chance to go to this aquarium I would highly recommend.
Cannot justify spending $50 on entry for two. Had to pay another $25 for 10 tokens. The website definitely over sales and makes you believe it's an actual aquarium. There's maybe 10 things for you to look at & a handful of encounters with animals. However staff was extremely friendly.
The only word for this place is depressing. My boyfriend was in town & we were looking for something to do. I remember going here when i was younger and not being a huge fan but we decided to give it another try just to see. We paid $50 for two people- general admission. You would think that since you payed $50 the animals would have big enclosures- no. All of the enclosures are so small, every animal looks SO sad, and every exhibit has a sign taped to it with a number of "tokens" you can purchase to feed or touch the animal... read more
I surprised my boyfriend for his birthday for a mini day date at the aquarium. He's such an animal enthusiast, so I knew he would love it. First things first: it's pricey! There's a whole system to enjoying the interaction with the animals. Depending on the animal you want to let, you have to buy a set of coins. It adds up. But it's worth it! He was such a kid. We had such a great time. Parking: free! Interactive. Super fun! Worth going!
If I could leave negative stars I would. Read the reviews people! These people should be SHUT DOWN. Period. The treatment and habitats for the animals are inhumane and I'm certain they are probably breaking some laws. The animals don't have vaccination records, the staff is ignorant about any laws or ordinances pertaining to animal care and these animals need to be released to a proper zoo/aquarium so they are no longer being abused here. Someone contact PETA or other organizations in Austin and get them shut down. I don't e... read more
This place doesn't deserve 47$ for entrance. They are not professional and the service is very bad.
We had never been to this place before but a family member had their birthday there, so we went. My son was bitten by their kinkajou during an encounter. The bite broke the skin, and when I asked for vaccination records on their animals, they don't have them. They directed me to their vet who recommended we go through rabies vaccinations. The girl who works there, the only person I spoke to there, said they take no responsibility because there is supposedly a sign posted somewhere near the entrance that if you come in, you a... read more
I know this place seems to have mixed reviews but when we went, we had a blast. The animals all seemed healthy and well taken care of and it was a joy to see them all and to get to go into some of the enclosures and pet them. Super fun to pet the sting rays and the birds and just a very enjoyable experience for our family. We have referred friends who were in Austin visiting a couple of times and they have also had a blast.
