Two adults and one child, we had the pies as our main course. The chicken pie was really tasty, the steak pie just average. It could have had more beer flavour in the gravy. The child's menu was very good, fish cakes being real fish. It was a comfortable, relaxed restaurant, but the service was a bit too relaxed. The promised 20% discount was not applied on the bill.
Good food, good service and good ambience...what else? 😊
Food was very good. Pigeon starter served in really odd shaped dish but was v tasty. Service was v quick, too quick, as we had been served starter and main within 30 minutes of sitting down so I had to ask for a break before dessert. Guess they were trying to turn tables over for festival? Waitress was good though and enjoyable atmosphere. Would go back!
Thoroughly enjoyed our meal however high tables were all that was available and we were surrounded by groups just having drinks think In hindsight would only book dining room on our next visit
We booked for this restaurant in the Edinburgh festival where it is normally chaos trying to get a restaurant. This was a peaceful haven. Lovely dining room and comfortable seating. The three of us had pies - two home made steak pie and one chicken and tarragon. They were huge and delicious. The only downside was as it got quieter the service seemed to become less attentive than when we went in although this would not stop us going back. Will go in the evening to see what it is like.
Six friends in Edinburgh for the Fringe. Booked table in advance. Good greeting and table. Great wine list. Unfortunately, my lamb dish was too salty for my taste. It was changed after not too much dispute. Everyone else enjoyed their choices. I would recommend this restaurant.
As always Badger and Co never fails for great food and Great service well worth a visit for lunch or Dinner
We enjoyed the ambiance and thought the presentation of the food was particularly good. I very much enjoyed my lamb, served in an unusual way.
Excellent food and quirky decor. We had a high top table which was great - and the wine was amazing!
