Met family for lunch and had a really enjoyable time. The set menu was a very pleasant surprise - interesting dishes in each of the courses to choose from and that meant that there was something that everyone wanted to choose. We found the staff there to be rather arrogant. Lots of tables in the small room. Very loud. Food was ok. Not spectacular. It was OK but we'll not come back.
Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Good selection of drinks from the bar and a comfortable seating area. The food was very tasty (with the home made pies absolutely stunning) and while not a huge menu to choose from, the range of food was good. Some meals can turn out a bit pricey once all the sides have been addd on, but we enjoyed it and would definitely return.

I chose the restaurant partly because it promoted itself as being in Kenneth Grahame's former home. The period building is beautiful but the modern decor and garish lighting clash with the history. Staff were friendly and efficient, food was delicious and I would have given it a higher rating if my main course had arrived on a plate (is there some connection I'm unaware of, between sea bass and roof slate?)
