Was disappointed that we couldnt get boozy brunch because apparently this needs to be pre-reserved. This wasnt obvious when booking.
We booked a table for 8:45pm, ordered food but weren’t told the kitchen closed at 9pm, only that we may have a long wait because there were big tables in. I ordered just a side which to be fair did come and was lovely, but my husbands meal never arrived, we waited for an hour and a half I, not wanting to hassle anyone. Really disappointed, the place was lovely the staff were great but the food situation really spoiled it for us. Nothing was taken off the bill for the massive inconvenience and my poor husband ended up eating ... read more
We ordered 3 cocktails. All were too sour and didn’t taste pleasant. Very expensive for what we received. Not a great cocktail experience.
Didnt have any food. Had booked for drinks inside but was taken to some sort of mini beer garden covered with a huge umbrella. It had heaters but ours was broken. Had expected to be seated inside. Service was slow and atmosphere none existent. Was quite disapointed and only stayed for an hour.
Absolutely freezing for the outside seating, only stayed for one drink due to lack of heaters & shelter. Staff were quite rude. Never got any food as very limited veggie/vegan options.
I was disappointed that we were unable to order the brunch. It didn’t state anywhere that you had to request it in the notes in the booking.
This was a Thursday night and it was not busy when we arrived at 6pm. It took 20 minutes for 2 bottles of wine to come. We then asked for food (meat and cheese platter) which also took roughly 30 minutes, when it did arrive the staff did not know it was suppose to come with bread. I had to ask for the bread included and the server replied oh I will check if it comes with it. The menu already states it does. When the bread eventually came it was cold and rock hard. This is wear we usually book work drinks but I don't think we... read more
We had lunch with friends at this restaurant between Christmas and New Year. I'm sorry to report that the service, whilst friendly and efficient when it existed, was extremely slow and we were largely abandoned for long periods. Three meals were fair but one of our friends had to send her Ploughman's Sandwich back. I would not recommend if this is typical.
Starters were pathetic - 7 diminutive mussels. I have had more served in a 2 Michelin star restaurant yet alone a cheapish bar style casual dining restaurant. Bread was stale - no excuse in this day and age to have such bad bread. Venison was decent but the potatoes just uncooked. Lamb raw... again now ‘pink’, raw. It was left. Service and staff perfectly pleasant. Having spoken to some locals and it seems this wasn’t a surprise as the venue has apparently gone down hill.
