Delicious meal and lovely atmosphere. Staff were really friendly which enhanced the experience
Unfortunately the service was very slow, food took over an hour to arrive and we had to keep asking for drinks top up etc. I had said on my notes it was my daughter’s 18th and yet no fuss was made except to allow us to bring our cake out. Just felt like we were more of an inconvenience than welcome guests.
The venue's interior design is lovely to look at, comfortable lighting and unique in a greenery and shabby chic way. Gilded frames 'portraits' of badgers and other animals. Our party of 4 adults had 2 higher chairs and 2 lower (armchairs) at the table. Ok for us but the low ones were not the easiest for eating from the table. Food very poor but when findings were shared staff were very attentive. Clingfilm found in dessert.
Where do I start! We ordered traditional turkey roast which comprised of 1 strip of carrot, 1 strip of parsnip, 2, yes 2, brussel sprouts, 2 roast potatoes, two pieces of turkey and two uncooked supermarket quality, pigs in blankets with gravy - all for a wholesome £24 each. I visited this restaurant for the first time today and although it looked really cute inside, I was left very disappointed. I ordered a roast dinner and as I ordered the beef I presumed this came with a Yorkshire pudding as other tables had yorkshires on theirs but when it arrived, there was no Yorkshire. This was strange to me as the table next to ours also had roast beef and they all had yorkshires on them so I don’t understand why I didn’t get one especially as that table ordered after us? Cocktails had were not a nice as I was expecting them to be, the feta cheese in the barley and feta salad was strong tasted like blue cheese. Was it feta??? Customer service was was not very interactive, definitely not joyful, just felt ‘just another customer has come in’
A lovely place on entry nice decor. Our waiter was also lovely, unfortunately the so called Sunday roast was a different story, beef was very chewy my partner and I had to leave most of it we enjoyed the vegetables what there was of them two potatoes half a carrot tiny piece of broccoli very overpriced at almost £24 and certainly miss sold by the waiter as a roast with all the trimmings, suggest not a good if you’re expecting a hearty roast.
Cozy interior and nice staff. However the food lacked flavour. One of us ordered the burger and it was brutaly overcooked and had no taste. The pie with chicken and mushroom had maybe to slizes of mushroom in it. Overall the food was a dissapointment.
