Dr. Bernstein, Dr. Wolfeld and staff are excellent. I had a great experience with my hair transplant prior, during and after my procedure. The staff and Doctors were courteous and very professional. I felt their patient care and commitment was great. They took the time to listen to all my concerns and answered all my questions. I think I'm lucky to be a patient of Dr. Bernstein. I didn't rush into getting a hair transplant. I spent twenty years as a bald man, and took my time researching doctors. I read blogs and news reports and looked at every new procedure and drugs available, but all my research pointed me to his practice. I found him to be very kind and although his bedside manner is a bit abrupt, the results were amazing. I had two procedures with him and was really, really happy with the outcome. You would never be able to tell.

Had a procedure done about 12 years ago when I beleive that Dr. Bernstein was with another group. The procedure went reasonably well, I think, and the results are not bad (having no other personal experience to compare it to). If you are looking for a warm and fuzzy feeling from your doc, this is probably not the guy for you. He may be competent, but just know that, if this is a factor for you, try and find someone equally competent who has a better and more patient friendly manner.

I was hoping to make a plan for a restorative procedure after a bad hair transplant back in January at a different clinic. It turned out to be a huge waste of money and time. Basically, after Dr. Shaver, in a quite dismissive way, told me THREE TIMES that I shouldn't have done anything in the first place, completely ignoring my motives and concerns, and her advice was to go home and pluck the entire transplanted area with a tweezer and call it a day. Extremely incompetent. Staff is just as bad. Good money for nothing. I would never think of using him ever again. Worst part is you cannot hold him responsible for a couple of months ad that is how these guys slip through the cracks.
I'm saying with complete candor that my adult life has been ruined by reputable surgeons in the hair transplant industry, which includes an operation performed by Dr. Bernstein that produced poor cosmetic results and created an additional problem where there was not one previously. Had to update my review to "prove" I was legitimately a patient. Pretty classless to try and discredit reviewers by claiming they can't verify you had a procedure. More terrifying, I woke up during the procedure and felt the machine ripping my flesh and they don't remember that!? Maybe that happens a lot at their office, but all the more reason to avoid it. Trash business. I paid more than $17,000 for what I now understand is a bad hair transplant. Got an FUT procedure and I've been left with a scar that's genuinely 1cm in width and that spans my entire head. Plus, shortly after the procedure I suffered from shock loss, which Bernstein's own website says is a sign of a bad hair transplant.
