Went very well Chimney brick replacement and other brick work
I had scheduled a chimney cleaning but Bryan quickly told me that it wasn't needed and only performed / charged me for a less costly chimney inspection. He reattached my separated fireplace screen for no extra charge, and it took a little doing. He took extensive photos on the roof, one of which showed a minor crack in the chimney seal. He told me it wasn't urgent to fix, and gave me several options to fix it with different price points. Mauricio and Sal from Bethesda Chimney were efficient and diligent. They completed the job beautifully in less than a day. Their clean-up was immaculate. Loved the job they did and now feel safe having a warm fire for cold winter days I needed the cracked clay lining of my chimney replaced to avoid a house fire. A steel lining was installed, the parging was done and a new crown was added.
It went great! Bryan answered all of our questions, was very thorough, showed us pictures, and explained the updates required to our chimney as well as the potential hazards of not having certain items replaced or fixed. I have to say it was a great experience. Easy to schedule. The technician, Bryan, was wonderful. He was extremely knowledgeable and was able to fix a problem that others did not. Prices were reasonable. He even sent me pictures from the roof and inside the chimney so he could show all the work that was done. What more could you ask for? I will never use another company! Bryan is very nice and professional. He explained the process of cleaning and parging the smoke chamber, cleaned out the chimney flue, re-layed the mortar crown at the top of the chimey, and replaced the cap/bottom closing damper with a new stainless steel top closing damper system. His crew were professional and also very explanitory. They did not make a mess in the house and left everything clean. I highly recommend Bethesda Chimney for any of your chimney needs. It went well. Bryan did an excellent job of explaining what we needed, and the work was done within a week. Would highly recommend I needed a new fire floor and some work done in order to get rid of the back draft in my chimney.
BC called ahead when they were running behind and told me they were on their way. They were very personable and professional. My wood stove is a very complicated Jotul (13 yrs old) and they refused to leave until they got it right. After cleaning the chimney they took apart the stove to get every last particle cleaned out of it. With the design of my stove they could have easily left it because it wasn't visible when looking in the firebox. I had Bethesda Chimney come out to inspect my chimney before making fires this winter. They found gaps in the flue that made it unsafe to use before fixing. Well, it wasn't the news I was hoping to hear about my chimney, but the technicians explained it professionally and took time to discuss options. I appreciated that the employees showed me pictures and gave different price points for the work. We're still deciding, but plan to use Bethesda Chimney for the work when we make up our minds.
