Our server Carol seemed impatient to get our order. I told her I wanted chicken fried steak, over easy eggs, hashbrowns, biscuits and gravy. Hot tea and water. She brought me a a grizz? After placing our order, we waited over 20 minutes for our meals to arrive. The server did not check in with us during this time. When the food arrived, the California Benedict was cold and not cooked properly. The server never checked in with us to see how the food was after delivering it. The meal was not edible. Ordered the tri-tip combo. Steak was grizzly and highly peppered. Server was kind to order a replacement. The replacement steak was better—but I would not recommend to others. Tricia was friendly and professional. Very attentive. One of the best servers I’ve experienced.
I frequent this Black Bear location as I travel for work and I am normally very satisfied with everything from the service to the food. However, the experience I had during my last visit earlier this week (I do not remember the exact date) has been enough for me to decide to never visit this Black Bear again. My husband and I are Professional drivers, so we dine at a lot of restaurants throughout the country. This was our second time trying out a Black Bear restaurant, and our last time. We were hungry and the rib eye steak sounded just like what we needed. We both ordered medium rare. What we got was medium, at best. We ordered poached eggs well done.. they were very runny. Our server could not get all orders on table at same time We,were offered 20 percent discount but final bill was only 2 dollars off a 50 dollar bill. Pancakes were really hard and not goid
We came in for breakfast. I had the Senior Bacon, Egg, Biscuit; my husband had the Biscuits and Gravy with Bacon and Eggs. The Biscuits were way over cooked - it was hard to even eat them. When I mentioned it to the waitress, she said, I am sorry, would you like to take some food with you? Well, we were travelling in a car, so taking food with us was not an option. We have eaten at Black Bear many times, this was the worst. Not sure we will be back.
We placed the order, salad never came the waitress forgot. She brought the food and it was terrible. The chips and fries were to oily. The bread on the sandwich was burnt on one side and we had asked for no tomatoes but the sandwich had them. We sent it back. There were no refills on the coffee or ice tea.
