I ate your breakfast with the sausage with the apple. On the way home, 35 minutes drive I became violently ill with food poisoning and had to go to the doctors today because of it. I had to go to the doctors today and am now on antibiotics because of the seriousness of the case. I am reporting this to you in order that other consumers don’t get caught like I did.
I ate at the Black Bear Dinner at Wheeler Ridge at the bottom of the Grapevine in Central CA on the interstate 5. I ate a breakfast with Apple Sausage. I experience terrible stomach pains and diarrhea when I got home. The drive was about 35 minutes. I passed out two times. If you can tell me who to contact at this location I would appreciate it. We arrived at the Black Bear Diner near Tejon outlets around 10 AM.....we were a party of 5 and it took half an hr just to seat us.....we placed our order and waited 25 minutes and still had no food....we asked the waitress how long the wait still was, she said another 15 minutes as there was an issue with orders being printed.....at this point we canceled the order. We went to black bear diner arvin, ca. This was very bad experience. The wait was minimal about 10 mins. We sat down and took only a few minutes to get served then ordered food. From the time that we sat down until the time our food arrived (family of 4) we waited for 1 hour and 10 mins. The food was ok although there were alot of flies. In 1996 my wife and I were in the town of Shasta and saw this neat little place - Black Bear Diner by name, so we decided to breakfast at that location. It was absolutely wonderful, so I was elated that you had put in a store, first in Bakersfield and then late one in Arvin. My wife has since passed away, but I frequented the Bakersfield location on numerous and have ALWAYS found the employees and food great. This was the Black Bear Diner at the TA truckstop on Laval Rd at the base of the grapevine. This was a horrible dining experience for all 5 of us. First of all we were seated in the large booth in the corner by the windows, I turned to look out the window and the ledge of the window was full of dead flies and trash and so was the area behind us where the bear displays were. I can’t give you more than 2 stars and that’s being generous in my opinion. The waitress (Carol pretty sure THATS was her name) was awesome. Recommended the Bear’s Benedict California bacon. It was really good. The problem I had at your establishment was seeing one of the waitresses very very VERY carefully take a chip of a plate of food and eat it while another waitress held the plate. My party of 6 was sat at the corner booth and the back of the couter top attached to the seats were covered in ants. These ant were eating flys and ended up all over my kids and my food. We told the server and she said sorry and walked away. We moved our selfs to another seat and then asked for the manager. He said this was a known problem and he would call pest control in the morning. He never went and cleaned the booth or had anyone else do it. He walked away as soon as he could.
