In 1995 founders Bruce Dean and Bob & Laurie Manley opened the first Black Bear Diner in Mt. Shasta, CA. The atmosphere of Black Bear Diner reminds me of Colorado, warm and welcoming. The food tasted delicious, like a good homemade meal from grandma. The service was a little slow. Expect to wait on weekend mornings both before and after you get seated. Overall, our group enjoyed our meal. We will go back!
Our server had to go ask to get common questions answered. The table felt like it had a slight greasy feel. From a business that was started in the NW I'd expect more farm to table and real maple syrup.

Eat here!! Great service, great food, great prices! Quick & easy service every time. I love the waffle and for a limited time you can add Nutella. The portions are hefty & will NEVER leave you hungry. If you have room for desert- I bet my bottom dollar the chocolate cream pie will be the best you've had.

Tried here for the first time and ordered the breakfast. Everything was really good especially the bacon. Service was great and attentive. We will be back!

Went to this newly opened location of Black Bear Dinner and couldn't be happier. The staff was very friendly even though they were completely slammed with customers. My server was great and even gave me a cheaper option for what I was ordering. It's a bit small compared to other BBDs but the food was the same goodness. Just know if you go at peak times there will be a wait. With as many people going BBD is going to need to open another location. See you here soon.
