In 1995 founders Bruce Dean and Bob & Laurie Manley opened the first Black Bear Diner in Mt. Shasta, CA. Their mission was simple: create a fun and friendly atmosphere where the local community could enjoy huge portions of home-style cooking at a reasonable price. Went into Manitou to eat at our favorite place, but it was packed. Then as we were leaving to go home back to Denver, we decided to stop at Black Bear Diner. We were very glad we did. The service, food was fantastic, definitely go back.
