We went to Black Bear on March 19th to celebrate our anniversary. There was one in Rohnert Park, CA, that I used to frequent and loved. We were seated almost immediately, however, we were totally ignored for at least 10 minutes. Not one person even acknowledged us or tried to get our drink order. We finally had to flag someone down - turns out he was the hostess and didn't even know what you had to drink, so he got someone else. I usually don't bother wasting my time with reviews but this time I will. Let me start by saying the staff is wonderful with that said I have been there twice (figured the 1st time was just a fluke....I was wrong). This food if flavorless and they use way too many canned items for my liking. I got the country potatoes instead of hashbrowns....they were over and undercooked (how does that happen?) I needed a ton of salt and pepper even added ketchup, yuck! We went went they weren't even full and waited an hour for 2 omelettes... read more

I've been here before and sat at the counter and the service stunk, but we assumed it was because we weren't at a table. Tonight, we waited 5-10 minutes for a table (not bad) and then we waited.... and waited... and waited. Servers, bussers, managers (?) all walked by us and smiled and not one said "we'll be right there, guys" or "can we get you a drink?" or "hi," they all just walked by and except for making and then breaking eye contact, we were ignored. The food is ok. Food Needs more flavor, veggies were burnt, had to send husbands steak back it was over cooked. Cottonwood diner just opened so hope the cooks improve their cooking skills. Hostess podium was always empty and people had to wait for someone. With a little more training you all will get the hang of it.

I never write reviews, but I felt the need to for this place. This is cottonwood, we don't have any good chains to eat here. So I was hoping this would be a winner, but I was quickly let down. Our waitress served our coffee over my kids' heads almost spilling it on them. But whatever, maybe she was in a hurry.... we get our drinks, well everyone but my husband. He never received his. We asked for ice twice and our waitress never brought it so we had to get it ourselves. Then 50 mins later, everyone got their food, besides my... read more
