Black Bear Diner is my favorite restaurant chain in America. With more than 150 locations spanning 13 states and more coming, it is one of the fastest growing chains in the restaurant business. The Danville location is situated near the I-680 Sycamore Valley Road exit, directly across from the Rose Garden Shopping Center. I met up with George F. here for brunch on 01/19/2025 at 10am. I always enjoyed this location and never had any issues with their "seasoned" servers, but obviously they have gotten a new server, the other day we waited 10 min to order after hostess got our drinks, order came out incorrect but never saw our server again, she never checked in if we needed more drinks or if everything was ok. Finally we had to get up and ask for check, she came out from kitchen chewing and still didn't ask if everything was ok. Maybe remind your new servers that a little means a lot. Just had a great brunch here! Waffles are so delicious! Vegetable omelet is so yummy and chocked full of goodies. Country potatoes are also quite good. Our server Jessica was outstanding!

Black Bear is my go to with my friend when we want to meet after 9pm, ugly, in jammies, and possible crying! The privacy afforded at this BBD is awesome. The food is not stellar but it does the job for a crying fit. I didn't love the biscuits. They were huge so I was so excited but they had NO TASTE! It was really sad. However the hot chocolate with a heaping amount of whip cream and the buttery English muffin is able to soothe the soul.

It was my first time eating here, despite there being A LOT of locations nationwide! Their menu is extensive, which I love. I had their "light" meatloaf plate, which was actually a good size with 2 sides for just $12. Everything tasted great! I was full but their dessert menu kept catching my eye! One of the few places in Danville that opens late for dinner. Sucks that the fettucini alfredo is now gone from the menu, but the steak and eggs special is always a treat. Ask for it medium rare and it is marvelously seasoned and grilled just right. My son loves the oreo shake, and they don't skimp on the oreo portion. Their breakfast portions are huge along with their pies and cake slices. Well recommended.
