Words cannot truly express how great of an establishment Black Bear Diner has been over the years. With excellent quality ranging from friendly staff to delicious food, I always come back to black bear for a cozy meal shared with friends and family. Even with a group of 10+ coming in with no reservation, black bear always seems to make accommodations comfortable for all. And don't get me started on the price for portion size, just truly incredible! Thank you Black Bear for serving the people of the East Bay!

years I have ever eaten at a counter by myself! Got to witness the interaction of management and staff with each other and guests. For regulars, they knew their names and greeted warmly. When staff arrived for a shift they were greeted.

This place is awesome! We have been going for breakfast there once a week for 9 years! Wait staff, Ray, Michelle and Danielle really take care of you with timely service! Food is always good, and they customize your dish if you want more veggies and fewer carbs!! (E.g replace home fries with sautéed spinach). Great friendly atmosphere that is best way to start the day with friends!!
