I happened to see this place where I live and bypassed it. I was traveling through and saw it in El Paso and decided to give it a try. I had one of the breakfast platters with the pancakes. Let me begin by saying come hungry. The pancakes by themselves are huge and delicious. They are made with a sweet cream and you don't even really need syrup to eat them. I like this place I have been to other black bear diners in other cities They have an excellent menu. These particular diner is located within a truckstop a welcome change to what used to be here. The service is very good and their food is excellent. Welcome to Elpaso Texas.

Been to this place a few times in Phoenix. It is always so good. Sad to see iron skillet go but this was a good replacement. Service was a bit slow but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt since its new and they haven't gotten a routine down yet. Kitchen did get backed up, but there was no lack in the quality of the food. I had the sweet cream pancakes combo. Came with eggs and bacon and I asked for a side of red country potatoes. My eyes were bigger than my stomach though, I forget how big the portions are. So keep that ... read more

A completely new renovated restaurant at Petro truck stop. Be prepared to wait for a table on the weekend. I'm not sure how busy this establishment is during the week. Our server was professional and attentive. Our food was delicious and filling. You won't leave hungry here. Highly recommend the pancakes, chicken fried steak and their coffee is very tasty and fresh. They serve breakfast, lunch or dinner all day and have evening specials after 4 pm. Thank you Black Beat Diner for inviting us to your VIP opening. Everything was spectacular. Service was incredible, Management was right on top of things. Food was fresh, well prepared and delicious. And for me, best of all no TV, no music!!! My guest and I could carry on a conversation without yelling at each other, and we could linger over our food without loud, fast music urging us to eat quickly.
