In 1995 founders Bruce Dean and Bob & Laurie Manley opened the first Black Bear Diner in Mt. Shasta, CA. I wouldn't know if the foods any good, I can't comment on the ambiance other than not to friendly, service is underwhelming considering i just got kicked out because, "We're not open right now!" It's 6:15am and they're still not open yet! Then change your hours!!!

The service could be better. We were told that the kitchen was short-staffed. Well, you don't get a second chance to make a first impression!

Was here yesterday service was very slow hardly ever checked in on. Was not many people there either. Ordered a burger and fries and a reuben sandwich took almost 45 minuites to prepare that. If your on lunch break for work do not go here time will be wasted and food is nothing special.

Raw bacon in ranch but French toast is good, chicken was pink, barely and bacon on blt, Chicken Alfredo was good but not a lot of noodles.
