Food was awesome, service not so great. Asked for onion rings, got French fries, my niece asked for a hamburger with mayo and pepper jack cheese, got Berger with thousand island, avacado and cheddar cheese. Waitress too order back and we had to wait for new order. Then when we left too pay they over charged us an extra hamburger. Watch your bill.
I have been to other locations of Black Bear Diner and had good food and good experience. However our recent experience at this Santa Ana location was not good. There seemed to be a general lack of caring by the staff. Here are a few examples: Our server would bring my husband a refill on his iced tea but would completely overlook that my cup was totally empty and I would not get a refill on my water. Guess the pancake chef had gone home! Big fat cakes were fine on top, bottoms were over cooked! Had to cut w/butter knife-that I had to get myself from another table! Asked for Huckleberry syrup, was told they didn't have an open bottle! WTS I'm a paying customer, open one! Not impressed
