The poor rating is due to lack of service. Came here last month for lunch with a friend and had a good experience. Service was great and food was good. Came back this morning for breakfast with my boyfriend and ended up walking out. We were seated right away. (Last time there was a wait.) A waitress came by to take our drink order. She said our waitress would be Jazzie. We got our drinks right away. Jazzie stopped at the table behind me, but never stopped by ours. (I only know this because someone called her by name.) The po... read more

My wife and I visited the Black Bear on Bristol in Santa Ana for lunch on Wednesday because we heard good things about it. I challenged them to the simplest thing imaginable -- a classic cheeseburger and fries basket. The burger came squashed with finger prints all over it and the fries were way under cooked. To be fair, my wife ordered a spinach salad and said it was quite good. The service was slow, and when I pointed out the shortcomings in my order, all they said was sorry. My third time and was surprised by how bad the food I got. The first two times were OK and gave me enough reason to come back and try more items in the menu. I had fish and chips which was more greasy than normal and the fries looked like they were left overs given another soaking in the deep fryer (I posted a picture on my wall). My companion had spaghetti and meatballs with pasta looking dry and unappetizing. We walked in at a busy time and perhaps the cook was still learning the ropes in the newly opened diner.

Been here 5 times... It keeps getting worse and worse! Plus the people are rude and don't fix what they do wrong with your order. Never will come back after the last time. They gave me a frozen lava cake then tried to charge me for icecream! And on top of it they said they wouldn't heat up my cake!
