Signed up for their email club and recieved a complimentary coffee and bear claw coupon. My fience and I decided to try it. We sat at the bar as there was over a thirty minutes waiting for a table. It took at least ten minutes (at the bar) just to get a cup of coffee. As we where getting our coffee the waiter asked if we would like to order and we stated we would like to utilize our coupons. RecommendedI love the black bear in Long Beach unfortunately the one in Santa Ana has a ways to go to be at their level. The host was distant and seemed disconnected. He had us wait for a table when there were obviously tables open and we did not get seated until the waitress seated us. The waitress needs a little more training but I blame that management. The food was delicious, no complaints there.
I really, really want to give this Black Bear Diner a 5 because I Love Love Love Black Bear Diner, but this location has been a huge disappointment. First off, it's always cold here and I always have to wear a sweater. On yesterday's visit, after waiting over 20 munutes, I asked the hostess if she could get our server. The wait was unbearable. An hour and a half. We had 10 and expected some wait but numerous groups of 4 that arrived after us write seated before us. The food was reasonable and prices a buck or two above average. The menu makes it an anytime place to eat. Just not necessary when you want to eat

Food was ok service not so much. Late to refill coffee, no coffee spoon set on the table and the staff was running in panic.
