Black Bear prime rib dinners are totally without flavor & the meat was mostly fat!!!! These dinners are worth zero stars! 3 people in my group had them. The 2 stars are for the pecan crusted trout, it was fresh, flaky, & delicious! Service was first-rate & the facilities are wonderful! The chef needs to learn how to cook prime rib with seasonings & purchase much better cuts of meats!!!!!

"Good things come to those who wait". Not always. Lunch Friday, September 14th. Hoping the kinks would be out and a smooth, effortless running of this establishment would now be the norm...we 3 ventured out. I don't recall ever giving a facility a 2 without cleanliness and sanitation being an issue. Neither were issues at the newest Black Bear Diner in Washington. The positives...ambiance, cleanliness, attention to customers, variety of menu, all were satisfactory as expected. There is plenty of parking and handicap parki... read more

I have eaten at this new Black Bear twice since they opened. The first time we went, it was great. Today however, was bad. My daughter and I got seated within 5 minutes. Our server came to our table promptly and got our drink orders. Coffee and OJ. 10 minutes later, we got our drinks. The restaurant wasn't packed, and our server didn't look or act stressed or rushed. We ordered breakfast. Eggs, bacon, and a waffle. It took 30 minutes to get our food. The first bite of scrambled eggs was disgusting. They were cold, rubbery a... read more

Nice, new place in a developing area. Unfortunately that's where the good ends. - ordered hash browns cooked with onions and crispy; got crispy, un-salted, un-peppered hash - ordered eggs benedict; egg was poached until hard boiled and Hollandaise sauce was a shade of light brown and greasy. Old butter? Yesterday's sauce? Came shooting out a few hours later looking pretty much the same. Yes, food poisoning. Thus the 1 Star.

OK, so yesterday (8/13/18) we tried our first Black Bear Diner, at the new location in Washington City, Utah. It was a mixed experience. New place was fresh and clean, with no sign of the grouchy manager and server(s) others have reported. Server Lyndsay (always cheerful) was quick to take drink orders and explain the menu (three different colored sections). She agreed to allow me to taste a little potato salad (awful) before deciding on my side, and I immediately opted for the fries (crispy) to accompany my Parmesan Sou... read more

I would like to make it clear that I truly hate to be "that Hispanic" who pulls the race card. But I truly hands down have never felt so humiliated, outraged and hurt by the way my family and I where treated. We where first treated by a nice gentlemen who took the time to welcome us to our first (and last time) to the Black Bear Diner. We where then helped by our waitress Rachel, who at first seemed nice enough to bring us our coffees and waters and took our orders. As we waited, my son, husband and myself watched how 5 fam... read more

Black Bear restaurant has always been a favorite of ours so today we decided to have breakfast at Black Bears new location in Washington utah. First of all let me say that the food is always good. However, the treatment we received today was LESS than accepble. Two couples both ordered the California eggs Benedict and asked for it to be split so husband's and wives could share. There are words printed right in the menu that encourage splitting plates at no extra charge. We told our waitress we would like the orders spl... read more

I'm compelled to leave this review because of the negative experience we had. But let me first say that our waitress was awesome! Older lady, super nice and professional. Her service was so awesome, I personally gave her a $10 tip. Anyway, there was a nasty dark hair in my food. I noticed it after one bite. I let our waitress know and she took it back to the cooks. There were 3 cooks, one hispanic, two white guys. One white guy had a beard that matches the hair in my food. (Why would a beard be allowed in the kitchen in the ... read more
