Food was excellent! Fine dining at its best!
This was my first time at Bond 45 and I did not know what to expect. I had stated it was my birthday on the reservation and that I would like to be sitted near the waterfront if possible. All my wishes were granted. The host, bartenders and our waiter, were friendly and attentive. They brought out a 2 scoops of ice cream covered with cotton candy to celebrate my birthday and the meal was topped of with frest baked cookies (YUMMY). Excellent food, although we mentioned it was a birthday celebration, nothing was done. Despite other parties received liquer and cotton candy.
Ive wanted to try Bond 45 for a while. We arrived for our 6:30pm reservation about 6:20 and checked in. We were seated about a 1/2 hour later at 6:50pm. We had been told that the restaurant had several large groups this evening. From the start service was slow and not attentive. The pace of dinner was off with long periods of just waiting for our next course. Dishes sat on the table and we had to ask for used dishes to be removed. The best steak I've ever had. Cook and flavored to perfection. Good wine list, though expected a bit more extensive on the mid-ranged wines, but overall good wines (we had 4 bottles).
I enjoyed a superb rare filet in the Italian style. i was reminded of the first time an Italian friend ordered a steak for me in northern Italy. i was astounded to be served the big steak with the raw red center, still cool..Oh man, i learned to love to eat steak and enjoy the life of a carnivore as never before. The food was pretty good but the service was a little spotty. It took a long time for the bar drinks to arrive, as well as the first bottle of wine with dinner, which we ordered when we ordered dinner. In fact, we delayed eating because we wanted to drink the wine with dinner. And I think our waiter forgot about our second bottle. He saw me lift my empty glass when he rounded the corner and promptly turned around and then reappeared with the bottle.
