I've been wanting to try this place for a number of years and finally did. I was underwhelmed as I had the pizza which was like a cardboard crust. They do not give you bread on the table. What Italian restaurant doesn't give you bread? Brandon's lasagna had a meatball that tasted like it was frozen. The Apple Hot Toddy and the chocolate blackout cake were standouts.

Our server told us that she was new and didn't know the menu very well. She was also spread thin serving multiple tables. We had to ask for silverware, milk, and sugar with our coffee. Once we finished with the sugar, it was taken to another table (as though there was only one sugar container in the restaurant.) We ordered a latte and received a black coffee instead...it was replaced once we brought it to the server's attention. $30 for a bowl of pasta seems excessive...but I guess this is NYC!

Our service in the restaurant was great. Our server was phenomenal! However, when I returned home I received a complaint from the restaurant via OpenTable that I “did not attend my reservation” despite paying the bill literally ten minutes prior. Having to deal with that incorrect complaint was a blemish on an otherwise great experience.

Spaghetti carbonara is supposedly one of their specialties. I’ve had much better out of a box. The sauce was gloppy, way too thick; what I’d call unctuous. My companion’s eggplant parmigiana was over-oily. Not a good experience. We should have walked an extra block to Barbetta.

We had a horrible experience. Took forever to get our food. Wait staff never came over to refill our coffee. We ordered a fruit plate to start and never got it until all the food came out.

The service was good but the food was awful. I went there with one other person I ever sat at a 2% table that was literally 1 inch from other tables on either side so it’s like we were at a family dinner with strangers .

The atmosphere and service were great, but the food was was terrible- especially for the cost. I ordered the homemade fettuccine with red shrimp. I received a huge bowl of noodles- with only 3 tiny shrimp mixed in. My wife ordered the chicken milanese and received a tissue paper thin piece of chicken, heavily breaded (much more breadcrumbs than chicken). You can get better quality food at Applebee's for less. Very disappointed. Would not recommend.
